Hi, ladies! DS is 16 months old and we decided to put the bedframe back under our mattresses. We feel like real adults again! However, being so high up with DS in bed scares me, so I went to BRU and bought a bed rail.
It says it's for ages 2 to 5. Think it's safe for my 16 month old? I mean, I'm sleeping right there next to him...
Did anyone use a bed rail when they had a newborn, or did you just put your mattresses back on the floor? Thinking ahead to number 2.

I bought a rail that clamps down rather than just butts up to the mattress; I used it from the start with DS. He never ended up against it, as he always slept between my arm and torso when he was tiny. It is mostly mesh, though, so the risk was pretty small.
This time, I do have an ARC that I'll probably use instead for the first months.

This one has straps that go all the way under the mattress to the other side if the bed, between the mattress and box spring. It is pretty secure.
I feel like I would have been comfortable using it with DS as a newborn too, because he always snuggled against me, so I would have been very aware of him scooting away and toward the rail...anyway, thanks for sharing your experiences!
