Babies: 0 - 3 Months

BACK IN SHAPE POST

Ok so I posted yesterday asking if anyone wanted to be back in shape buddies with me and a couple of you wanted to join me so here it is!

Goals... Lose the last 12 pounds of baby weight and tone up the flab. I am aiming for around 1800 to 2000 calories a day but an not going to go crazy about it, mostly just trying to choose healthier foods instead of fricking girl scout cookies! :

Today... Arms and Abs!
Breakfast was two wheat waffles with peanut butter and banana

Life... Baby must be in a wonder week, she is fighting naps and very clingy. However she started smiling and wow did my heart melt. Hubs and I had it first dinner date as a couple last night which was so nice...I even had eyeliner on, woohoo!

Okay, tomorrow I'll let you know how today went and post the next plan, hope no one is annoyed at me for this but I need to feel accountable even if it us just to internet strangers :

  • I don't think it's annoying at all! I had a Clif bar for breakfast, and I think I'll make up a grilled chicken salad with strawberries, walnuts, and some feta for lunch. And salmon with some veggies and quinoa for dinner...it's a pretty good plan, I think. Now if I can just say no to all the junk food in this house :)
  • Goodmorning all! I love that we are doing this!

    Goal: lose the last 13 pounds of baby weight!
    Exercise: just got back from a 6 mile run. I'm running a half marathon in April, so I'm slowly working my way there. I ran the same one last year but I was pregnant with my son....so this year I really want to kick butt.
    Food: just had a bowl of life cereal with low fat soy milk.
    Baby update: LO started sleeping thru the night about a week ago, so I'm going with it! I'm back to work so my MIL is watching him and she is seriously the baby whisperer! My son is napping on a schedule and sleeping 11 hours at night.....but he eats a ton all day long. I unfortunately couldn't BF because of surgery, so washing bottles has become my hobby! Small price to pay for such a beautiful boy.

    I feel blessed! Thanks for starting this post, I look forward to holding eachother accountable :

  • I'd love to join in the "fun" too! Really need some accountability.

    Goals: Lose the last 10 pounds of baby weight, plus the 5 I gained on vacation right before I got pregnant...so, 15 total. Hoping to make a dent before I go back to work in April because I do not want to buy new clothes. Ugh!

    Today: Do some abs and take a walk - it's cold but sunny in Chicago today. Yay! Start counting calories too. It's such a pain, but it helps. 

    Life: We're in a wonder week too, and dealing with reflux. But yesterday we had 2 hours of crying instead of the usual 3-4 hour, so I guess I'm happy? I'm really really ready for LO to sleep in longer stretches at night (right now his longest is 4 hours)

  • This is awesome gals,I an seriously on here all dang day because DD is so clingy and hungry that I have been living in the rocking chair! Can I ask the PP who runs marathons how old her boy is because dang I am jealous of her sleep and ability to run!!! I will be thinking if you all when I choose my food today!

  • My son was 10 weeks on Friday. So SSTN started at like 9 weeks, but then it was 78 hours. This week started the 11 hours. As far as running. I started slow. I hated running in high school and didn't started running until like 5/6 years ago. If you start slow, it's totally possible. I would be happy to help any way that I can if your looking to start running!

  • Ok ladies, here goes...

    Goals: Lose the last 20lbs of baby weight plus some..and ditch my pregnancy eating habits! I was a pretty healthy eater before I got pregnant, so I have no idea what the hell happened there - let's just blame it on hormones, lol.

    Workout today: just finished Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack. I want to get back into running again...I'm working up to it (jogging/walking with the dog on some days).

    Breakfast: Just made myself an egg & white sandwich w/ reduced fat cheese on multigrain toast. Now if DS will let me eat it before waking up is another story! Haha.

    Life: generally still crazy - DS is just over 7 weeks, we're hopefully getting the MSPI and reflux under control with the new formula. I THINK he's starting to smile (some of them I know are just gas...but there have been a few intentional ones, I think!). DH and I are doing our best to not go nuts with the craziness lately...we're hoping to maybe have a date night soon! We miss each other - things with DS have been so hectic. Hoping this is the turning point and things start to settle in.

    Goals...  Lose 20 pounds, get some muscle back!

    Today...Treadmill walking this afternoon and some easy leg exercises.

    Life...Life with 2 is nuts! Trying to stay sane, get some sleep, and keep everyone fed!

     

  • yes! i really need to lose the terrible eating habits i developed in pregnancy. i lost 20 of the 30 lbs i gained in the first week post partum and have since then have gained 5 lbs. what?? so i would like to lose a total of 15 lbs.

    my goal today is to walk for an hour w little one in the stroller do 30 minutes of yoga.

    for breakfast i ate 2 pieces of ww toast w peanut butter. i always start off pretty good. i need to figure out something healthy to eat for lunch dinner. probably i should go grocery shopping? so hard to do w a 3 week old!

    Goal- Lose 20 lbs that seem to be sticking around while breastfeeding

    Breakfast- 2 Egg whites with 1/2 a grapefruit and coffee

    Workout- It's snowing here in NH so either a treadmill run or Jillian M's video. 

    Life- Little man is pretty good. Waking up once during the night but fighting naps in the afternoon. Luckily my husband is home most of this week so I get to relax a little. (He's a pilot and when he is working its all on me!)

    Goals... lose last 10 lbs of baby weight, plus an extra 30 if possible before we try for the next one!

    Today... bad start! McDonald's sandwich for breakfast, but I've been doing oatmeal or toast and yogurt. Not working out yet bc I'm only 3 weeks PP, but I want to start walking this week.

    Baby... suddenly started eating less, back to 2oz from 3oz. If she keeps this up I'll at least be able to give her some more breast milk bottles each day! I EP,and have to supplement with formula. Waiting it out to see if she's feeling OK though... a little fussy, but not much and had a little poop change over night.

    That's wonderful, same here! Just recently our son starting sleeping good 6-8 stretches on some nights too! It may not be every night, but this is an awesome start for us! He actually slept like 10:30-6:30 last night...I woke up feeling like a new woman! I'm thrilled! It totally puts him in a better mood for the first half of the day too! :)

  • Me too me too! I'm going to start my 'plan' tomorrow since we have a family party today and there's no way I'm missing out on this food! Lol.. But here it goes-

    Goals- lose 35 lbs.

    Exercise- I've always loved health and fitness and I'm in the process of getting my personal training certification, so I'm pretty knowledgable when it comes to diet and exercise. I'll be posting my daily workout routines if anyone would like to join in! I haven't been cleared by my doctor yet -LO is 5 weeks today- so this week I'm going to be walking and going slow on the elliptical 30 min to an hour, 5x. 

    Nutrition- my plan is to eat 5-6x per day, smaller meals, consisting of lean protein, whole grains, a few fruits, and lots of veggies. Starting out at 1800 calories per day and seeing how my breast milk supply reacts. I'll post my daily meal plan as well.

  • This is awesome! I also subscribed to myfitnesspal.com - it's free and you can track your calories and workouts. I need to see the numbers all in front of me to stay motivated. You can have buddies on the site as well to post on your comments and goals, etc. If anyone joins or is a member already friend me - beachbum482

     

    Goals - lose last 10 pounds of baby weight and ideally another 20 at least. I am working with 1800 calories a day - which is why myfitnesspal is awesome. Tracks everything.

    Today - Wii Zumba! Sooo fun and I sweat my buns off!! Bfast was a egg, bacon, cheese breakfast sandwich on a whole grain english muffin.

    Life - LO is 9-1/2 weeks and is suffering from a little winter cold at the moment. He's really stuffy and has a cough. Dr said as long as he's not running a fever and he's still eating/sleeping that it should run its course. I feel so bad for him but he's still in such good spirits! He's been sleeping 6-8 hour stretches at night for the last 3 weeks and it has been wonderful! Next goal is to move him upstairs to his crib instead of the PnP in our room and start to make his bedtime earlier. (Currently it's between 10-11).

    Goals: Lose 30 pounds of baby weight in the next 6 months. 5 lb per month seems do-able. Run in a 5k in May (I've never run that far in my life, sadly).

    Today: not going to count, since it's 8pm and the damage is done ;) 

    Life: Got back from visiting the in-laws today. Baby boy did great on his first out of town trip but has been fussy this evening. I think he was just overtired. He's finally sleeping now. I'm looking forward to getting back to our normal routine.

  • I'm in! It's is awesome!

    goal: get back to weight I was when my husband and I met (which means loosing 30 lbs)

    food: started off the day with a banana and tea, then spent the day with my parents and had steak and shake for lunch, then had oven roasted chicked with glazed carrots and dressing.

    LO update: she has been sleeping from 8 pm-7:30 am for about a week now! And she is smiling more and laughing a bunch! And since DH has been away on business she is looking for him and misses him!
