3 month old standing up

for the past several weeks, ever since LO was about 6 weeks old, she has bearing weight on her legs. she doesnt balance herself or anything but she can stand without any help. and she really enjoys it, she thinks is really funny and she gets really excited when she does it. but im being told by some family members that i shoulnt let her stand up becasue she will become "bow-legged"... i asked the nurse practitioner about it at her 2 month check up, and he said that it wasnt true. but people are really hounding me about it. has anyone else heard of this? any truth behind it?

WTE the First Year says that won't make babies bow-legged. And my DD could stand with help pretty early and she is a normal 2 year old.

If your LO wasn't ready to bear weight on her legs yet, she wouldn't be able to do it. Don't worry!

DS could stand up at about 2 to 2.5 months old and he is fine so far. My pediatrician said it's a myth about the bow-legged-ness.

My DD has been standing just like yours, since she was 6 weeks. Her legs are fine at almost 6 months now...I wouldn't worry about it.

I havw found that you need to tune out all the advise family gives u. I only believe in what my pedi tells mw. U know what is best and like pp sais, she wouldnt be doinf it if she couldnt. Dont let them make u feel guilty.
