Anyone want to be buddies?

For healthy eating and workouts?

I don't know about you but I have been on here on my phone a lot while breastfeeding and I just got the okay for exercise so I thought maybe we could do a daily check in to keep each other in line and motivated? I know I an so tired and would love some accountability so I can look normal by the time it us warm out! Anyone else?

  • I'd love too! My LO is 10 weeks, so I'm a little bit farther along, but accountability is key :. I've actually committed to a half marathon in April, so I have to stay on top of my workouts! Would be fun to get a group of new moms to join in...either way, I'm up for a workout buddy!

  • Awesome! My plan is to post here daily if I can with how eating is going and what activity I plan to do fit the day, with maybe an update oboe the precious day went our how it is going with the little one... How about I post it under BACK IN SHAPE POST and then you'll know which one to look for?

  • Ok. I will look for that post. That sounds like a plan :. I'm back at work, but am reading thru the boards at daily feeding times. This is my first baby, so it's been chaotic and life changing. I'm glad to have found a buddy to share it with.....daily check in about workouts, eating and life as a new mommy sounds like just what I need!

  • I want in!  It has been hard to eat right and exercise!  I am ten weeks pp and go back to work in a week.  Thanks for posting this.
  • I would love to join in! I had my baby Thursday, so I can't do much in the way of working out yet,but I am tracking my calories through SparkPeople, aiming for 1700. It's hard so far! Everything is so hectic with people in and out to meet the baby. They all want to bring pizza and cookies. Lol! I'd love it if anyone could share some quick-prep recipes for clean foods. I've got chicken breasts all broiled up and divided into four-ounce servings, and fresh veggies cut up with hummus for dipping, and some Clif Builder Bars for when I am super lazy, but I need a little more variety, I think.
  • What half are you training for, bartlettlisa? I would love to do another marathon soon. I have always wanted to run San Francisco, but that's coming up a little too soon, I think.
  • I'm in Michigan, it's the GET FIT half in Mount Clemens. It's in it's early stages. Last year when I ran it was only year 2 of the race, but it's a beautiful race for a great cause, the proceeds to to help beat childhood obesity. I use the App Smart Running Coach. It helps to schedule runs so that you can plan them appropriately. Plus my hubby runs too.....but just WAY faster than me, lol.

  • Sounds great! I love running, but I am just so slow! Last marathon time was just under six hours--people who were walking went across the finish line before me haha. Do you do any sort of speed work? I need to maybe work on some of that when I get the doctor's ok. I bet it would burn more calories, too, than just doing long runs.
  • Dod uou run a half or full marathon. Im barely brave enough for a half! I do hill work for speed. Sprint uphill, walk down. I usually do this once a week for 3 miles. If you are by a track, you could sprint the straights and walk the curves? Where do you train?
