Brushing Teeth

Have you started the routine of teaching your LO to brush their teeth? Do you do washcloth or have you started to show the tooth brush?

DD still only has two teeth but I am picking up a little tooth brush and am going to start wiping her teeth down with a washcloth, too just so they are nice and clean and gets her used to it. I wanted to do it earlier but she's most of the time in pain due to teething that I didn't want to mess with her even more.

I have been brushing his teeth since he was 6 months old. I use the Nuk rubber tooth brush and Earth's Best flouride free toothpaste. I got them both from Babies R Us. He likes the taste of the toothpaste too since it tastes like fruit.

I use a rubber finger brush and Colgate Infant Toothpaste. She isn't a huge fan of letting me brush, but I try to get a few good swipes in before I let her 'do it herself'. She only has four teeth right now.

DD has six teeth now and started getting teeth at 5 months so we've been brushing since then.  I have the rubber banana shaped one from Whole Foods with the banana flavored xylitol toothpaste. My mom's the purchasing director for a regional dental practice and says the dentists swear by it. I have researched it too and heard good things. It's an all natural product too. And we do give her a flouride supplement.  I'm a big believer in flouride.

I use a soft bristle baby toothbrush and I make my own toothpaste.  I am TERRIBLE at remembering to brush his teeth though.  Sometimes he's great about it, other times he throws an ever loving fit.

We use washcloth and sometimes a toothbrush when I can get her to use it. I honestly think its a bit ridiculous since all their teeth are going to fall out anyway. She has 8 teeth

DS has 7 teeth and we've been brushing since he had about 2. 3 more on the way in at once, including another molar. Ugh. We used to nuk silicone fingertip toothbrush, it comes with toothpaste. Now he's moved up to a real toothbrush and I think it's nuk too. Maybe gerber? DH is much better at effectively doing it than me.

We brush DD's teeth every night. She loves it! Her dentist gave us this neat doublehandled toothbrush almost looks like scissor handles so she can hold it but I can hold it and move it as well. DD will try to move it around even when she's holding it by herself. She just got her third tooth, but we've been at least using a washcloth since 6 months. We started with the toothbrush a little over a month ago.

I feel bad, mine has 12 teeth and we only wipe down his teeth with a washcloth when he gets a bath, every other day or so.  I got him a little toothbrush but he does not like it.  I also just realized we have well water so he's not getting a lot of fluoride either.

I use the little blue rubber brush thingy and fluoride free toothpaste. I do it almost every night but sometimes I forget. he actually likes it and is pretty cooperative. he only has 6 teeth still.

She is obsessed with brushing her teeth. I think it's the toothpaste - if she sees it in the bathroom she asks to brush. She'll let me get a few brushes in (she has 5 teeth) then she goes to town. We use the banana brush, so I think it just feels good to gnaw on it.

DS carries around an adult sized toothbrush sometimes.  When we rub the bristles against his lips, he'll start giggling.  Otherwise, I'll occasionally rub a wet cloth against his teeth, but he really doesn't like me messing around in his mouth.
