If we don't do a tub bath or a sponge bath, then my DH or I will get under the shower with him. He LOVES it--it's his favorite part of the day. We don't do soap with a shower--just get in there, let the water run down his back and head, turn him around to hit the front a few times. He just loves being in the water and now tips his head back to let the water run down his face. It's great bonding time for us.
Yes. I started with postpartum herbal baths with DS and ended up in the bath with him for a really long time, because he began to cry every time I wasn't in there.
Now I'm pretty thankful we have a large tub because it's myself, DS, & DD all in there at once. It actually makes it pretty efficient at getting everyone done.

I do and we both love it! Showers are particularly easy and quick, perfect for when we need to be somewhere because I can kill two birds with one stone.
Pro make getting out easier I line her bouncer chair with a folded adult towel and then her bath towel. When we're done I just put her in the bouncer and wrap her in her towel while leaning out of the tub.
If I'm going to bathe her in the shower with me, I get her naked and sit her in the bouncer as above, but I put a folded small towel under her bottom in case she pees. Then, she happily chills while I shower and when I'm totally done I reach out and grab her. I'm more nervous of dropping her in the shower so I pretty much cradle her and be sure to have a death grip on her thigh at all times.
I shower with DD have DH waiting outside the shower and when I'm done washing her will hand her to him. He wraps her in her towel and take her to the room and get her dressed. She hates taking baths in her tub and screams but showers together she loves, I'd much rather shower with her then bathe her and have her scream.
I almost always do! It is the only way that she doesn't cry. I usually give her to DH and finish my shower while he dresses her. Alone is a little harder but we make it work.
I think at that age it would be challenging. They're just so floppy and I don't see how I could bathe myself. We didn't start bathing with DS until he could sit up really well. Now he showers with us sometimes. If I'm home alone with the kids and need a shower myself I prefer him to shower with me because I'm worried he will mess with the baby while I'm in the shower, plus it kills two birds with one stone. It will be nice when DD is a little bigger and I can bathe them together.
Everytime!!! Best time of the day! I have a garden tub so plenty of room and I have one of the summer infant umbrella bath seats thati put in the tub with us and when I get out she lays in that.
I do it when I have SO to put him in and take him out or SO gets in and I take the baby in and out. I don't know that I'd attempt it alone though. He is very slippery but I hold him underneath his arm and hold his head.
we used to sponge itshe cried. Tried filling her tub w/o slingshe slipped and slided and cried. My mom suggested getting in tub and faye LOVES it. Smiles and stretches.. Iwas nervous but we only fill it a little. I hold her with one arm and a bent leg clean with the other. Afterwards i just hold her so a she can kick and call for dh when she's done. He'd grabs her, changes/dries/dresses.

my daughter's first bath was when she was about a week old and she came in with me, it was the best experience ever (apart from giving birth of course) the only downside is that you have to make sure the water is cool enough for them so it may end up making you feel a little chilly, but its brilliant for bonding. oh and p.s my little one didnt wee or poo in the bath either, she waited until we'd put a nappy of her
I did the other night b/c she needed to feed and I wasn't getting out of the tub lol. So I went ahead and gave her a bath and she loved it! Then I just had DH come and get her. I guess if I was alone I could just put her down on the rug while I got out. I'm a horrible klutz so I wouldn't trust myself with a slippery baby and getting out. Or have a big towel by the tub to wrap her in and then get out...
Re: Do you guys bathe with your baby?
No, I've wanted to ,but I'm worried he will be hard to hold when he's wet.
