So I've made it a personal goal to achieve 30 things from a list before I turn 30 (May, next year). I'm having trouble coming up with some things I should do! I'd love some suggestions.
If you were doing a list what kinds of things would make it to yours?
Here's a few things so far on mine:
- Go to my first concert
- Get my first tattoo
- Have a second baby/or be pregnant for #2
- Buy dinner or coffee for a stranger behind me at a drive through
- Get another 4.0 semester - Spring 2013
- Lose 45 lbs (or more!)
- Learn how to use my dSLR camera - correctly!
- Go see the NY Yankees play in the new Yankees Stadium (we went the last year of the old stadium, it's time to go back!)
- Take The Kid to splash in the ocean
Re: 30 before 30 help
I'm already 30
I would probably have a list including:
seeing the ocean (which I never have)
Learn to sew properly
start and maintain my first real garden
start to learn a new language
It's okay! Make a 40 before 40 list
This is a good idea! I would have a hard time thinking up 30 things to do that are achievable! But I like the list you've got going, can't think of anything to add though, sorry!
I live so close to the ocean and I take it for granted! I'm almost 35 so this doesn't exactly apply to me, but I would like to drive across country.
I am jealous. The only thing I'm near are a couple of (dirty) rivers.
Me too! The lake we spend the summer at is actually the 3rd dirtiest lake in the world! This makes me so sad! I love the ocean, I wish I lived closer!
Our ocean and shore towns took a beating here in jersey due to hurricane sandy. So, this summer at the shore will have a whole new meaning!
Other goals:
Get credit score up
Buy a newer car (Which I can actually check off since we did on Thursday, we weren't planning on it, it was kind of fast!)
No soda for 1 month - including Diet soda
No coffee for 1 week
Go Skiing again (I'm terrible at it, but it's fun, and we have a ski "resort" a mile down the road from me)
Teach MH to swim (Seriously he has no idea how... other than to doggy paddle, and he's kind of bad at that)
Sandy was a b!tch! I hope things move quickly for you all.
A) The Red Sox suck.
C)I got lucky enough to marry a man who is also a Yankees fan, along with his brothers, except his Dad who just likes the sox for spite of his sons (And to attempt to turn my daughter to the dark side!)
I'm definitely adding that to a bucket list, or a 40 before 40 list, but it's not financially feasible for us before next May, as much as I would LOVE to go someplace tropical... especially since it's only 25 degrees out right now, and this is considered warm for February. Frickin'Brrrr.
What about conquering a fear of some kind? Like going up a really tall building if you're scared of heights or something like that.
And I agree about more hobby stuff, 'cause you seem to have a lot of creative interests. Maybe a project or two that you've been putting off 'cause it's too daunting?

I forgot you were in that area! We are going to look at a vacation house in the Sound next month. Even though it is ocean water, it still feels weird calling it the ocean since there are no waves. Lol!
I have a list and on it I had things like visit Europe, swim with dolphins, learn to make canned foods, take a cooking class, snowboarding in Whistler, jump the entire wake while wakeboarding, go somewhere with a white tropical beach, landscape my yard, get married, visit Hawaii, visit the east coast, eat shrimp in New Orleans, etc
Only 5 more needed... here's my updated list:
What day is your Bday? Mine is the 19th
That's pretty awesome! I have snowboarded a couple times, MH went out and bought us all the gear thinking we were going to be big boarders, I went twice and hated it. We finally broke down and sold my board & boots a couple months ago. I do want to at least attempt to ski again so if Layla wants to do it when she gets older I could take her. We've attempted gardens before and we don't have very good soil for it, although I do want to try container gardening so maybe that should be a goal of mine
We've already told friends of ours that they are responsible for teaching our kids to do snow and water sports. We can handle skating and cross-country skiing, but skiing/snowboarding are out (I think DH just doesn't like it; I've skied twice and the second time I fell the entire way down an "easy" hill and kept losing a ski and spent the rest of the day on the bunny hill). They all love waterskiing, wakeboarding, etc. and DH will try it but doesn't really like being in the water (he gets too cold too fast) and I have a fear of my head going underwater (I can force myself to do it for swimming and stuff, but if it were to happen suddenly I would freak out). We're both teachers, so we can help their kids with homework and school stuff in exchange for them helping our kids with these sports. Pretty sure we're getting the better end of the deal.
