Tomorrow is our all day adoption class and one of the assignments was to write a letter to the birth parent or parents that will go with your info(in our case we are adopting from Korea). My thoughts flowed a lot easier than I thought BUT it just made me realize even more than I did just how DIFFICULT it is to be in the position of giving away your child. Thanks for listening ladies.

Re: Just wrote our letter to the birth parent/s
Hmm I didn't have to do that! I'm thankful though because that sounds tough. I can see why it made you realize how difficult of a situation the birthparents are in.
My Blog
I started our generic one this weekend.
It's so hard....you need to chose your words carefully but there's so much you want to say. I found that I had to keep rephrasing everything I wrote!
Once there were two women who didn't know each other
One you do not remember, the other you call mother
Two different lives, shaped to make yours one
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun
The first gave you life, the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it
One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name
One gave you a seed of talent, the other gave you an aim
One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears
One gave you up, it was all she could do
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you
And now you ask me through your tears,
the age old questions through the years
Hereditary or environment - which are you the product of?
Neither, my darling, neither, just two different kinds of love.

I found this poem not long after I came into contact with my birth mom. It really touched me.
"God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13
