  I'm 4 weeks PP and still have my stitches, I had 4th degree tearing.  I expect them to be around another 3-4 weeks.  My OB/GYN told me to just keep dabbing and using the peri bottle when going to the bathroom, still no wiping so as not to catch and tear them.  Good luck!  I'm right there with you and it sucks.

  Mine never dissolved with my first... They eventually worked their way out around 12 weeks pp. this time around my doc used gut instead of synthetic, and I didn't have any of the pulling/tugging I had with my first. I would guess they were dissolved this time by 4 weeks.

  If they are bleeding I would call your doc and ask if they want to see you! Besides that I was told 6 weeks is average but up to 8 weeks+ could happen.

  I still had stitches at 6 weeks.  My OB said to take bath occasionally to help them dissolve, since it had been long enough.

  Had my f/u with a perineal specialist yesterday at a little over 4 weeks. I had 1 stitch left and she removed that. Said everything was healing up well. I had a 3rd degree tear.
