Infertility

Hoping I'm welcome here.

Just posted on IF veteran w/out reading the disclaimer. I saw veteran and thought "yep. That's me now."   Not realizing that u have to "know people".   So, yet more cliques. I get it why it's there, but it feels rude to not get support for infertility on an infertility board.

So my post was mainly about how difficult this whole thing is getting. More and more 'bad days' and friends getting pregnant one after another.  This seems to be my only option for those who understand these strange, conflicting feelings.

I don't have a signature up yet, but we've had a 3 yr road so far filled w/ lap, IUI's and now IVF's.

 Thanks for listening.

Re: Hoping I'm welcome here.

  • Of course you are welcome here. If I may make a suggestion though. I wouldn't start by calling us rude and a clique. Many of us post on both boards and find that a little offensive. If I see your other post correctly, not a single person responded to your post or said anything even remotely rude to you. Someone kindly posted the rules so your feelings wouldn't be hurt. I am truly sorry if they were. You are very welcome here, these ladies are wonderful. The ladies on IF vets are incredible, I hope you never have to be there.

    PAIF/SAIF welcome!
  • don't take the post too personally, i checked out that board first because i have been dealing with IF since 2009.  I didn't post but lurked for a bit then saw they were very specific with who it was for, so I came to this board and have been welcomed with opened arms.  I know there are several ladies who maintain posts on both boards and are extremely helpful and supportive.  i hope that i will never have to jump over to that board but know that the support they give each other is much needed.

on this board it is mostly those who are doing IVF's or injectable IUI's.  I like that it is a variety because I feel it's just as important to be able to give support to others with treatments you may have tried already as it is to receive advice from those that have been there before.

i welcome you and hope your stay here is short.

  • I understand how you feel. I am also new to this board and was made fun of the other day for repling/ believing in someone else's post. Glad I'm not the only one feeling that way.
  • A lot of the IFV ladies post here too...  They are great ladies, that I have learned a ton from.  You posted in the wrong spot, they directed you here, and this is the correct spot.  They were not being rude, we direct people to the correct board all the time.  Being on the correct board is helpful for you.    No harm, no foul.

     Welcome and good luck!

  • Welcome!! I got my hand slapped too the first time I posted on this board. I learned quickly that you just need to be careful how you word things. Everybody's experience is a little different. Since then though, I've had nothing but support and lots of ears to vent to. Welcome, and sorry that you're here Sad

    **TTC #1 Sep 2009-Feb 2013**   Me: 33 DH: 32 (healthy, SA = normal)

DX (May 2010) = Lap #1 showed Stage I-II endometriosis. HSG normal. Tx with 6 mo Lupron (which did nothing...) Lap #2 June 2011 to remove endo, uterine fibroid, and polyp

    November 2012: IUI #4: Letrozole 2.5 mg + Novarel trigger + monitored IUI + progesterone = BFN

    IVF #1: Long Lupron Protocol,Menopur,Follistim, ER = 2/12/13 27R/26M/23F

    2/17/13 Transferred 1 perfect Grade 1 blast. 17 frostbabies.

    HPT 7dp5dt: BFP!!! Beta #1 9dp5dt: 108 Beta #2 11dp5dt: 368

U/S #1 3/21: Heartbeat and one perfect bean!!  DS born 11/6/13 via c-section

    TTC #2 March - August 2015 = all BFNs

Prep for FET #1: Aug 2015: found "mass" in uterus on saline sonogram; scheduled a hysteroscopy to remove.

Sept 2015: Hysteroscopy: mass turned out to be scar tissue(?), all removed. Recheck saline sonogram 2 weeks later showed "stuff" still in uterus (more scar tissue? remnants from surgery? Will see if clears with a period). Recheck saline sonogram 1 week later: all clear! Start Lupron and Estrace. Follow up u/s 2 weeks later: uterine lining only 5mm, add in patches. Follow up u/s 1 week later: uterine lining = 4.3mm (argh!), stop estrace and patches and start estradiol injections twice/week. Follow up u/s 2 weeks later: uterine lining = 5mm :/ Instructed to keep on estradiol injections and recheck in 5 days = lining still at 5mm. Need to make a decision - go for it? Or toss in the towel w/ this cycle and start all over again next year with a new protocol. Decided to go for it as we had 17 frosties; what have we got to lose??

    12/2/15 = transferred 1 perfect Grade B blast

    12/9/15 = HPT - BFP!!!!

    Beta #1 12/11/15: 236    Beta #2  12/14/15: 503   Please stick little one!!!!

U/S scheduled for week of 1/4/16

  • Welcome aboard! May I suggest to have a bit more thickness to your skin. Most ladies mean well others make you want to forget you are a lady tell them where they can shove their comment (speaking from personal experience). For the most part you will find many, many, many friendly and helpful ladies here. I wish you the best results through this process.
