  • 4.5 months.  Water only unless he is refusing bottle of bm from grandma while I'm at work.  Sometimes she tries to give him bm in the sippy, and he seems to prefer water from it.  He drinks water with every meal of solids and loves it cold!

    First we had eachother.5.27.11
    Then we had you.6.16.12
    Now we have everything.

  • I started at 6 months with water.  She is pretty good at it now.  She spills sometimes, but she knows how to drink without my help.  And she just loves it.  When I take it out, she reaches for it and gets excited.

  • He was 7 months. It was water. He does NOT like it...he can pick up the cup on his own and bring the spout to his mouth, but he only chews on it. He does not care to actually drink the water! :o) We've tried a few different types...same result every time... he'll get it eventually I guess!

  • We started with water in a straw sippy at 6 months and she caught on immediately. It was actually her big brother's sippy that she stole, but we were planning to start her on a spout sippy that week anyway. I was surprised because we had to teach our son how to drink from a straw after he used a spout cup for several months.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

Mine is 8 mos and just chews too. I started offering water around 6 mo but he's never really been into it. We've tried the Nuby Spout sippy with handles, straw cup with handles, and the take & toss sippy without handles. He's not really interested. He just started taking an interest in holding his bottles and understanding that so I'm thinking that will help him understand to tip back.
