Strawberries and other allergenic foods

So a friend of mine on facebook has a 5 month old daughter. Just now, I saw her post a video and a picture of her daughter eating a strawberry. I'm not sure what to think right now, since it is highly recommended to hold off on strawberries until your child is at least a year old....right? Or has that changed? 

Have any of you ladies let your LO have foods like strawberries, chocolate, or other "high allergenic" foods yet?

    The only foods we waited for a year to try were honey and shellfish. There's no evidence that holding off reduces the risk of allergy.
