Trying to Get Pregnant

OPK once a day or twice?

How many ladies test more than once daily with OPKs?   I never got a positive Opk this month and wonder if I would have tested twice a day maybe I would have seen it? Just curious....although I guess I could still be waiting for O? I usually get a positive between CD 11 and 13, and now I'm on CD 21.  I have a temp shift after Cd19 which makes me think maybe I missed the timing  for positive OPK. I test in the morning.

thoughts, advice?

Re: OPK once a day or twice?

  • What times of day are you testing?

    I'm a little OCD ... I was testing when I got up, around noon, and in the evening.  Probably overkill.

    i test at 7am before I go to work.

  • I tested twice a day this cycle and got two positives.
  • I was able to catch my surge testing once a day.  But if you're concerned that you're missing it, definitely try twice.  Good luck!

  • I tested once a day starting at CD9 up until CD13 or 14, then I switched to twice a day. I tested with FMU and then when I got home from work around 3:00. I only ever got 2 positives, both on CD16.

  • :::lurking from TTCAL:::

    Many of the ladies test multiple times per day. Morning, afternoon and evening I think?

  • I test twice a day, usually in the morning before I leave for work and then after I get home. If it's getting really close to positive I'll test again before I go to bed.

  • Last month I got my first ever positive OPK on a digital. I was only testing once a day because of how expensive they are haha. This month I have 50 Wondfos so I've been testing 3 times a day and since I'm getting close to my usual O day I'm going to also test once a day with a digital too. I'm determined haha.

  • Once a day in the morning using either FMU or SMU (RE's office recommends SMU). I've never missed my surge.
  • I test at 9:00AM and 9:00PM each day. I would say that I haven't had a short enough surge so far that I would have missed it if I was testing once a day, but every person is different and you never know what could happen so I will continue with twice a day!
