t p please

Nolan has his first cold. : stuffed nose, fever of 101.1. I think we MAYBE got a stretch of three hours sleep last night. The rest was constant up and down.

I'm using saline bulb. Kicking myself.for not having nosefrida here ICE. Doesn't look like I can get one before Tuesday.

Just gave Tylenol and put Vicks on feet. Currently sleeping on me.

Eta: just read not to use vicks. Ugh. Scratch that.

I'll take all the suggestions I can get.

Re: t p please

  • Add a humidifier and steam to your routine. The thing you'll need the most is patience because you'll have to wait it out, most likely. Pick up some Pedialyte, monitor that fever, and be prepared to wait it out. Sick little ones are no fun. I'm sorry it's hit your house!

  • They have a baby Vicks that doesn't have menthol in it and is safe for babies. I put it on Charlie's feet when she was stuffed up in Dec, worked like a charm! We also used the Vicks Warm Mist Vaporizer with the baby Vicks inserts. Both worked really well. I hope you all get some rest and the fever goes away!

  • We use a cool mist humidifier. Did steam once last night. I just looked it up and they sell nosefrida at bed, bath, and beyond. After DH gets some rest I'll go get one and some baby vicks. Thanks!
  • Ugh. We just went through this. I agree with everyone's suggestions. The Vicks you applied on his feet won't harm him so don't beat yourself up over it. I'm glad you can pick up the nose frida that you want and some baby Vicks. I hope this cold doesn't last too long.

Getting the bathroom all steamy and the sitting in there has helped us in these moments. Try baby vicks, we've used it too. Also, our doctor told us to apply light pressure on the side of nose under eye by sinus passages to help move it along. Thinking of you guys!

    This.

  • Humidifiers are a godsend.

I hope he feels better soon, poor baby! Take him into the bathroom naked with the hot shower running. Don't put him in the hot shower, obviously, but just hang out with him in there. The steam will work wonders for his nose!

  • I couldn't find baby Vicks anywhere. Did get the nosefrida. Now he's traumatized by the bulb, though, so he just sobs. Bought a warm air humidifier with baby vicks pads, but i think it's a POS.

Most worried that the Tylenol doesn't really seem to be working. Got last dose an hour ago, and fever is still over 101.

Yeah, this is what I read. No mention of whether baby vicks is okay, though. Maybe it didn't come out until after the study.
