Oops! Posted twice, so how about a GTKY?

Re: Bump burp! GTKY

  • DH ran cross country in high school and continued running in college, but didn't try  out for the team.

I didn't play team sports in high school. I was a horseback rider and rode dressage. I still have my horses (they live with my parents), but I haven't ridden since I was pregnant with DS! Someday, I'll get back to it.

Here's a PIP of my girl before she got sick (she has EPM and looks like a mess right now):

  • I was a varsity cheerleader. I started cheering when I was 9.

I know some don't believe cheerleading is a sport but it was what I did.

  • What sports did you play in high school or college? In HS, I played tennis and was a diver all 4 years. I also did a season in gymnastics and track. I dove one year in college. I also played ultimate frisbee in college.

Anyone still play any organized sports? Nothing anymore, now I just run. I continued playing frisbee for a few years out of college, but now I have no time.

  • I never played sports, but I danced.  I stopped when I got to college but missed it terribly.  After I graduated, I joined in on a class of high schoolers at a local studio and ended up being their teacher by the end when the actual teacher just up and left. I taught four classes for a while, but with DD I just couldn't keep it up and care for DD and work full time. I still teach one tap class per week and it is the perfect amount of time to de-stress and have fun with the girls.

Not quite the same as sports, but eh.

  • I was a cheerleader, but I wouldn't qualify what we did as sport.  For fun, I played tennis, which was definitely high cardio since my game usually consisted of hit the fluck out of the ball and then run all over 3 courts trying to chase it down.  All those people who keep it in the lines are wimps.

  • I started dancing at age 2. I did gymnastics on & off for probably 10 years. I was also a cheerleader briefly.

I started teaching & choreographing when I was 15, so this is my ::gulp:: 20th year of teaching dance. OMG, I hadn't thought about the actual number of years until this moment.

My husband played volleyball in high school & college and still plays in a league. I actually just watched him win three sets last night. Still sort of a cheerleader, I guess. :)

  • In HS, I was in volleyball, CC, track, & basketball during the school year & softball in the summer.  I also raced motocross for a few years.

In college, I ran CC for 4 years and track for 3 years (I graduated in 3.5 so I didn't have a 4th year).  That's how I met my DH - we were teammates.

I'm trying to get back into running after having my DD.

I hate running, but it was so much fun it was worth it.

    *All are Welcome*

  • Cross country running all 4 years.  I still run, but that's it!
  • I ran track off an on in high school, but I was never very good quit early a few times thanks to asthma (and later on smoking with asthma; yup, I was a smart one).

In college I got really into racquetball and played in the school gym's racquetball league, but we didn't play other schools or anything like that. I tore all the ligaments in my ankle rock climbing my last semester of college and moved after graduating, so I haven't picked up a racquet since then. I should probably give it a shot sometime soon since my gym has a court and everything.

  • I didn't play any HS sports. I picked up CoEd Softball about a year after HS. DH joined us when we started dating. We loved it and would still play if we lived closer.

DH played football, baseball, and a season of basketball. He hated basketball! I wish I would've known him then. I'm sure he looked smokin' HOT in those baseball pants!

  • I was in cross country and track in high school. I also was a cheerleader but i know many people dont consider that a sport. TBH, i was in better all iver shape during chrerleading season than i was in cross country though. I was on the rowing team when I studied abroad during college.
  • I didn't know we were supposed to count band. I was in marching band and orchestra in high school and orchestra in college.
  • What sports did you play in high school or college? In HS, I was on varsity swimming, jv and varsity track (sprinter and relays) and sophomore and varsity cheerleading. I swam a bit in college but nothing major.Anyone still play any organized sports? I played on an adult for-fun soccer league a few years ago. It was fun but not my thing. I lasted 1 season. I don't do anything organized now, though I keep active.
  • Growing up I rode horses - I rode for my college's equestrian team.

Now I don't ride anymore (although someday I'd love to get back into it) but I cycle and I practice yoga.

  • I played softball and was on the rowing team. Now DH and I play softball in a coed league
  • Played basketball and track (long jump, triple long jump, and relays) in high school. I also played the clarinet in band.  Freshman year of college I played intermural basketball. Now I dislike exercise... I gain weight and take initiative to start exercising, but I hate it and don't stick with it.
