Anyone else's kid cram way too much food in their mouth? I'll give C a snack, like 5 pieces of Pirate's Booty, and I'll be damned if he hasn't shoved all pieces in his mouth. Sometimes he'll chew it up, sometimes he'll spit the whole thing out. WTF?
Scarlett does this with the added fun of taking some of the extra out and offering it to who ever she sees first including waitresses and passers by at the park.

I'm pretty sure my child is the human version of the House of Leaves. We call her the cavern. She sometimes gets food stuck going into her mouth because she has these teeny rosebud lips and I have to take it out and break it up and she proceeds to shove both halves in her mouth one after the other.
If given the chance C will put her hand into the bag of Goldfish and shove all of whatever she grabbed into her mouth at once - could be 2 could be 7. It's messy.
Yup, Lily does this, especially with Cheerios. She's gotten better with most other foods 'cause she actually chews now, but for some reason Cheerios still all get shoved in as fast as she can go.
LBB shoves pieces that are too big in his mouth. Then he cries because he can't close his mouth. When you try and remove the food he gets hysterical because "YOU'RE TAKING FOOD FROM ME!" and refuses to touch it when you break it up and give it back.
He also gets hysterical if you try to peel the orange he's eating so he gets the fruit and not the peel.

What is pirate's booty?? Also if you google pirate's booty it doesn't appear to be food or anything for little ones at that!!!
B also crams food in his mouth, he enjoys taking handfuls and seeing how many stay in there!
Yes. All the time. I have to be careful when giving him tougher things like meats and such. I can only give a few bites at a time. Otherwise he crams as much as possible in his mouth at once and proceeds to gag and spit everything out. You'd think he would have learned not to do that yet, but no such luck.
So my first thought when I read the post title was "that's what she said" because apparently I'm 12.
But yes, DS is terrible for this. I've started to only give him 1 piece at a time to try and get him to slow down and actually chew his food instead of cramming it in and trying to swallow it whole like a snake.

I'm glad that I'm not alone with my little piggy problem. Jwls, maybe they don't have it in Canada? It's really yummy puffed corn, it's sold in the natural section of the market. I should send you some. I'm weaning C off of the Gerber puffs onto these.

I have never seen it in Canada, but then I've never looked! A fun scavenger hunt on my next shopping trip!
We have the same problem. I can't get him to take a bite OF something either. If it's in one piece, the whole thing goes in. I gave him a cereal bar a while back to see how he'd manage it, and before I could stop him he stuffed the entire thing in his mouth, gagged, and he spit it out.
If I physically HOLD something and keep on saying 'bite..bite..bite..then he might. But even then, he'll lunge for the whole thing. WTF, it's not like I take away his food or anything
Re: Can't cram enough in the mouth
Oh my goodness what a kind thing to do!
