Re: Colposcopy

  • I have had lots of abnormal paps and a few colpos and biopsies. With my last pregnancy they did a colpo after the standard pap smear they do when you are pregnant. i have mid grade and some high grade. they didnt do the biopsy until after my 6 week pp checkup. colpos are fine to have when pregnant, all they are doing is putting a wash on your cervix, it doesnt harm anything.

lots of people have abnormal paps. you should ask your doctor about your concerns?

  • Yes i def will add this to my long list of questions when i go in for my frdt appoint. Thxx :
  • I have had a colpo about 7 years ago. I had had a pap indicating mild dysplasia. Within 6 months time my mild dysplsia turned into cervical cancer in situ (cancer cells that hadn't invaded any further than the outter layer of tissue. My case was more extreme and rapid than most, but you def don't want to ignore any abnormal results you have. In my case, had we not stayed on it, it could have quickly turned in full blown cancer and cost me any hope of carrying my own baby. Best wishes that everything turns out fine. My thoughts are with you.

this is scary. i get paps every four months to keep mine in check, and i missed the last two because i have been moving so much. im nervous for my pap in a few weeks.

This is terrifying. I only get one every 2 years haven't had one since before I was pregnant with DS. I was told that since I had no history of abnormal apps and was in a committed monogamous relationship my risk was even lower. Thinking I should get my cervix scraped :/.

  • I had a colposcopy done a few years ago due to some abnormalities. It turned out to be nothing. I would definitely get one done if possible, though. It's better to be safe than sorry. Sending the good vibes your way!
