March 2013 Moms

Scheduled C Section :(

I was hoping to not have a c section but she isn't turning and the doctor said she doesn't have room to turn at this point. She is 6lbs 2oz! Her tentative birth date (we could go at anytime per the doc) is now March 15th and we go in at 8am... Anyone else have a scheduled c section? Isn't this surreal?! I'm so excited and nervous!!

Re: Scheduled C Section :(

  • My c section is also scheduled for March 15th at 1pm. It is a RCS. I am not looking forward getting another c section.  All the Dr.s in the practice I go to told me I needed a RCS....last appt. a new Dr. told me I could try for a VBAC if I wanted.  Clock is ticking and I am definitely torn.

  • I'm lurking from April, but I just wanted to share with you that when I was pregnant with my twins, they continued to flip from breech to head down right up until 38 weeks. In fact, at 37 weeks, one of them was breech so they scheduled my c-section (possible induction if baby flipped) for the following week. I asked for an ultrasound the morning I went in to the hospital, and sure enough, baby had flipped and both were head down! And that was with twins who each weighed OVER seven pounds, so if they had room to flip, yours certainly does! I ended up having a vaginal birth for both.

Just wanted to encourage you to maybe ask for a last minute ultrasound before you go in for the section, because you never know! But if it is a section, that's okay! Healthy baby is all that matters!

I'm a total newb on medical abbreviations. What is an RCS and VBAC? Yay on same possible birth date!! :)

  • My uterus is arcuate and the dr said my baby wouldn't turn and she did turn at 38 weeks!  Maybe yours will too!  Good luck

  • repeat c-section (RCS) and vaginal birth after c-section (VBAC)
  • I will be having my 4th C-section on March 18th.  Even though I have had 3 previous c-sect.  I always get nervous before.  It seems like my other c-sections were easier to recover from then the first.  Good luck to you.
  • Mine is scheduled for March 4th at 1pm. Yes, so surreal! I'm having one because I have developed some pretty massive fibroids since becoming pregnant and they seem to be blocking up everything. I love that they even gave us a time for the delivery. Like in case we have some errands to run that morning or something!!
  • I am scheduled for a RCS March 4th. Six days before my due date. Hoping she doesn't decide to come any earlier.

  • We are at 37 weeks and had a c-section scheduled as well because Baby has been breech and doctor didn't think he would turn.  I did acupuncture on Wednesday and Voila!  Baby is now turned & head down!  I'm still prepared for a CS, if needed.  Just want our LO to arrive safely!

  • I'm one of those rare women that the cervix never drops. I just learned this today from my records. It would have been nice had my old clinic told me that this was why my induction failed miserably but that's another story. I have a repeat c scheduled on the 12th. My due date is the 10th. Of course if I go in to labor before they will take the baby but my doctor is in the Caribbean! Lucky me. I could have scheduled with her partner but the dates filled pretty quick with short staff. Its ok with me, I'm so not ready.

  • Yep, c/s for me.  This is my first (and only) and I have uncontrolled type-1 diabetes so my OB doesn't want to do an induction for fear my sugar levels will be too hard to control.  I have an amnio scheduled for March 25 at 37+3 and if LO's lungs are ready she's coming out that week....unless she has her own plan, of course.  : )

I honestly don't really care how they get her out of there as long as there is no additional risk to LO.
