Hi ladies I want to know what, if anything you took or ate to boost your ferility.
DH and I have been trying for a 2nd for a while now. I will be speaking to my doctor at my yearly exam next month but I'm willing to try some new ideas before then.
TIA for any ideas or advice you have!
Re: Boosting fertility naturally?
I used Pre-Seed, because I was pretty sure that I wasn't making enough of my own cervical mucus.
Other than that, I just ate healthy and what-not. My friend's little sister, however, redesigned both her husband's and her diet based on all sorts of research and they got pregnant within 6 months-- after failing for a year and being told by her doctor that diet didn't affect fertility at all. I don't know what she added or changed but if she could find the information easily, I'm sure you could do some research, too...

Thank you for the reply. Changing my whole diet wasn't something I'd thought of.
I have done some research on the topic but am looking for some real life experiences from those who have recently gotten pregnant.
I switched to organic dairy and eggs to avoid the growth hormones and antibiotics they give them (think about it -- what a mother eats and meds she takes comes out in her milk, so the same must be true for cow's milk, right?) I also cut way down on soy because there is a lot of increasing evidence that it mimics estrogen and acts as an endocrine disruptor.
The other things I did were fertility yoga (the Restoring Fertility dvd set available on amazon was great) and weekly acupuncture.
I was doing all of this in preparation for an IVF cycle, but ended up getting PG on our last cycle trying on our own, after 2 years with no success.
Good luck!
I did a bit of my own research and didn't want to take anything too outside the box. Egg quality was more my overall concern than getting a bfp. I started taking l'arginine and Co-Q10 two months before this pregnancy and like daniel, used preseed and I also did the Restoring Fertility yoga which I was also a big fan of. I'm inclined to believe I was just lucky and I wasn't taking the supplements long enough to have an effect on my fertility but who knows???
My sister drastically changed her diet after ttc for 5 years under the supervision of an accupuncturist. Many of the changes she made were things that I just had adhered to on my own for many years already. She now has a 6 month old conceived naturally at 42. Again maybe it was just her time, but the changes she made all contributed to better health overall so it can't hurt!

I started going to an acupuncturist 2 months before I conceived this fall. She specializes in fertility and women's health issues. She gave me some TCM herbs to take as well. Some for pre-ovulation and others for post-ovulation. Also about 2 months before I conceived, I started attending fertility yoga classes and doing some serious meditation sessions because I was so stressed about trying to conceive.
I'm a vegetarian so I just made sure I was eating enough protein, less sugar and lots of fruits and veggies.
I was also taking prenatals and a vegetarian DHA supplement.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
Thank you - I did not know this!
I recently met with a nutritionist who specializes in fertility and she recommended 600mg of CO Q10 per day for me and my husband, 1 300mg pill 2x a day, as that is the dosage that has been shown in studies to increase male and female fertility. I found out a few days later that I was already pregnant (!) but I will certainly turn back to that supplement when (if?) we decide to have a third baby
. I also have a Vitamin D deficiency and have been taking supplements for a month or so, doubt that had anything to do with this pregnancy though.
I'm 42 and had horrible AmH numbers (0.2). Here's what I did (12 weeks pregnant naturally):
- went to Dr Dao (author of The Tao of Fertility)
- saw dr Dao once a week for acupuncture
- drank dao's teas 3x a day which contain many fertility boosting herbs
- took prenatals, omega 3, probiotics daily
- took royal jelly tablets 3x/day as prescribed by Dao
i HIGHLY recommend Dao's book which will give you a lot of tips on herbs and diet. I tried to eat well and certainly focus on organic, but I eat out a lot and wasn't super stringent. Dao told me to complete quit alcohol, but admittedly I was still drinking a few glasses a week.
