Spanx

This is probably a dumb question. Tomorrow night I'm going to a ball and I get to dress all fancy and everything lol I have a pair of spanx at home to wear under my dress. Since they are regular spanx and not maternity will they somehow effect the baby in any way?

    No, you are not going to hurt the baby, but I do think you might be uncomfortable with regular ones

    Omg I can't imagine trying to wear my regular spanx right now. They are pretty tight on a normal day. I'd go spanx free or get some maternity ones if you can.

    God, this.  I tried wearing regular leggings weeks back and wanted to kill myself.  OP, be kind to yourself and get the maternity ones.  I used them last time and they worked perfectly :)

    I am uncomfortable just thinking about wearing non maternity tights /nylons /spanx.

    I bought regular spanx but a size up from what I would normally wear and I thought they were way more supportive than the maternity spanx I got. The maternity ones have no support in the belly (at least I didn't feel like they did), I was a lot more comfortable in the normal kind but in a bigger size.

    I suppose YMMV.

    I wore my footless spanx yesterday at 21w3d and I was not that uncomfortable. I did buy a pair of spanx maternity nylons to wear to a wedding next weekend, but I didn't want to try them yet and ruin them. I say try them.

    I would skip the Spanx, maternity or otherwise. Why be uncomfortable? You'll look fine without them.
