My DS is 2 years and almost 2 months old and has been very cranky, fussy and crying alot for the past 2 weeks. I figured it was his 2 yr molars coming in and noticed that one has barely broke through yesterday. Cant get in his mouth to see the others yet. He has had a runny nose and very congested, but no fevers and not acting sick at all. Horrible crying when we drop him off at daycare, which he NEVER does. Hitting other kids in daycare periodically for past 2 weeks as well. Very whiney and crying at home too. Im guessign this is all related to the molars finally coming in, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this with the molars. The rest of his teeth pretty much were fine and caused no problems.
Also, does anyones children hit other kids and what did you do to get thme to stop? Time outs dont seem to be working all of a sudden.
Re: 2 yr molar issues
Sounds like it could be the molars. Can you get a better look when brushing his teeth? That's really the only time I can get a look at DD's.
We've actually had it pretty easy :knocks on wood: with this set, but the first set of molar wreaked havoc on our house.
With hitting I take DD aside and have her watch the LO she hit. We talk about how it makes them sad when you hit them. We also talk about better ways to vent anger or frustration. It sounds like your LO might be in pain and isn't sure how to deal.

We've got the two year molar blues here as well. We are visiting my family (flew here, we only see them a few times a year) and she is super clingy and whiny. Only wants me (screaming if somebody else holds her...so not like. Her), runny nose, not sleeping well, chewing on her fingers, not eating that much.
So, I have no advice, just wanted to say that I feel your pain. We haven't had any breakthrough yet, just see four little swollen bumps in her gums.
