Rice Cereal Allergy ?

I've never posted on here before, I've wandered on here a few times but now I have a question and decided to involve myself in the world of The Bump so consider me new to the party!

Has anyone experienced any skin rash or reaction with Rice Cereal?  Such as slight swelling in the arms and skin turning red?

 

I noticed this in our 5 month DD, it was after her first rice cereal feeding and then we gave her a bath, she was super excited and going crazy after the bath as per usual and I noticed her arms were slightly enflamed and where her flailing arms would hit her thighs it was red. It went away within an hour. I was concerned but I'm also a FTM and of course FREAK OUT OVER EVERY LITTLE THING Tongue Tied The Rice Cereal was the only thing different in our evening routine. I won't be give any cereal to her because I know it's not necessary, we will be giving her pureed solids after 6 mos. I was just curious if anyone else experienced this?

    DD was allergic to rice cereal too.  She got really red and slightly puffy in the face.  We switched to oatmeal and she LOVES it (also, at least there are nutrients in oatmeal as opposed to rice cereal).   Haven't had a problem since we switched and now we're on to solids.

    Thank you for responding! I might try oatmeal in a week or two and see what happens.
