White spot on tongue...

I called our pedi's office and the nurse said it is thrush... without even looking at DS. ?I thought thrush was all over the tongue and mouth, and DS only has one little spot that won't go away. ?Anyone have something similar? She did prescribe Nistatin, and we'll start that tomorrow. ?I just didn't think thrush could be one tiny little spot. Thanks. ?Also, DS hasn't pooped in 9 days. ?I know EBF babies can go 10 days, but this has been the absolute longest he's gone. He's on Prilosec, so no clue if this is the culprit, but I'm calling the pedi tomorrow about it.?

Re: White spot on tongue...

  • It starts in small patches. You must have caught it early.

  • I have something called Graphic Tongue that isn't painful or well-known. I've had it since my parents can remember and sounds a little like this. It's a white spot that (now) takes up most of my tongue; the clear area that isn't white itches when I eat tomatoes or similar foods. Just sounded a little familiar.

  • I think you manged to catch it early it starts out to be small patches that look like milk left behind, and can spread, you are lucky to have got it early.
