Hi Ladies-
I'm in the 2ww from IVF #1, and I'm not super hopeful. I had all normal CD3 bw- we did IVF due to severe MFI. My AMH was borderline low at just over 1, but my FSH and AFC was normal. When I started stims- my e2 rose VERY slowly and I only got 4 eggs at retrieval.
So in a nutshell- I'm just trying to do a little research and see if there are other protocols that work better for poor responders. So if this was you- tell me what worked for you. Thanks!
Re: ? from IF: Were you a poor responder?
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
Well that would be this one FO SHO! It was a hot hot mess. Thank you!
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
I really credit doing acupuncture and following the infertility cure diet to helping me respond better than expected to the meds during IVF. Also I did antagonist protocol w bcps.
Good luck. Like pp said, it only takes one!
I had a REALLY crappy response to the antagonist protocol. That cycle went so poorly we ended up canceling because my RE thought there was a decent chance my eggs would be so fried, we would end up with a 0% fert rate. D**n dominant follicle killed my cycle. Next time, I did a Stop Lupron protocol with 15 units of Lupron and a starter dose of 150 Follistim/ 150 Menopur. It took me a really long time to "wake up" from Lupron, but we ended up with 12 mature eggs. On my next cycle, I was on 10 units of Lupron and 450 total of Follistim and Menopur. My AFC at baseline was six. In the end, I got 17 eggs; 16 fertilized. I read somewhere that CC.RM doesn't do Stop Lupron because of the low pregnancy rates, but we had success. However, I credit a lot of my success to pre/post transfer acu (my first transfer was very painful and I had super intense cramps after), assisted hatching, and a change to PIO (I think I had absorption issues on Endometrin).
Anyway, I hope you don't need this information! Best of luck with your current cycle!

Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!
I have DOR (DH also has severe MFI). I was on the Long Lupron protocol for my first IVF (my DOR dx is fairly recent). Lupron was stopped completely at some point when my RE realized I was being oversuppresed and all of my meds were increased. Stimmed for 13 or 14 days, had 5 eggs retrieved, 4 were mature, and 3 fertilized normally w/ICSI. We did a 3dt of 2 embies that resulted in the birth of our son.
IVF #2 was Microdose Lupron Flare. Stimmed at the max doses of my meds for 12 days, had 6 eggs retrieved, 5 of which were mature, and 4 fertilized normally w/ICSI. We still had all 4 embies growing by day 5, and ended up transferring 2. I am 26 weeks pregnant with twins, and we have 1 frozen embryo.
My RE always stresses quality over quantity, and that has been the ticket for us with our IVF cycles. Good luck to you!
DX: DOR and MFI
IVF w/ICSI brought us our 1st precious miracle
