Alex is STTN for the most part now, after we did CIO for the third time a few weeks ago. Yesterday he had a really crappy nap and last night he woke up twice, ugh. Both times he cried for 20 minutes or so and I am so tired today.
We also got denied for private health insurance twice now and are really starting to get very stressed about it. DH became self employed in the beginning of December and we will be able to keep our coverage through his former employer until August, but after that we are not quite sure what to do now. We are currently waiting for the letters with the reason for the denial and will then come up with a plan. SO stressful!
What's your vent today?
Re: My vent - what's yours?
The continuation right now is not COBRA, because the company is too small. We were told that we can't continue after August, no matter how much we'd be willing to pay. And yes, we are definitely going to apply again in January, but we need to find something for the gap between August and then :-(
You've probably seen this, but just in case... https://www.txhealthpool.org/
And I'm all for the move to Canada. For many reasons.
Yes, thank you! They have a $3 million life time max, so this would be our very last resort. We are thinking about moving to Germany though.
Sorry that you are going through those issues with medical insurance- it can be very scary. DH switched jobs two years ago and like 3 days after he left his job and before he had started the new one he ended up in the hospital with a massive DVT which required a series of very expensive surgeries and the hospital staff kept coming into the room and asking us how we were going to pay the likely 100k+ bill. I spent an entire day on the phone trying to get it sorted out and get the insurance company and hospital to realize that he had Cobra coverage. I really hope that you get a good resolution and soon...
My vent just tired, see other post for long and not so short of it...
