TTC #2

I was just wondering who out there was in the same boat as me. My DS is 15 months old and he was conceived barely even trying; I didn't even know when I ovulated. TTC #2 has been more difficult. I was just wondering who was having a similar experience; sort of a GTKY. Anybody else conceive without even trying the first time around only to struggle the second time around? What are you ladies doing (ie temping, OPKs, any meds, etc)

I'm sorry let me rephrase; struggle is not the right word. Is anybody finding it not as easy as the first time?

It took us 3 cycles for DS1 and 6 cycles for DS2.

I'm not at all struggling bc we just started ttc last month, but I find it's harder to get in the mood for sex at the right times bc we are both tired ! My dd is only 8 mo though. So I know that is different than when I was ttc w out a baby in the picture.

I am sort of in the same boat. My DS is 16 months, I got my fierst pp period in October so we have loosely been trying since then with no success. In the past couple months I have started charting & temping. With ds #1 I just used opk's and was ku within 2 months. Like a pp said, with having ds and working full time I find it harder to get in the mood and have the energy to HIO more than once during my fertile window. Good Luck!

I'm not struggling, but DD is 14 mo and we're just starting to try. When we started trying with her, I didn't really know anything about how getting pregnant worked (all I knew was from sex-ed back in school and that all focuses on not getting KU) It took us 6 cycles after I went off the pill, but I have no idea how many of them I was actually ovulating.

This time I'm starting out temping and charting (before actually even ttc) and I like really knowing and understanding what is going on.

DS is 20m and we actively tried for over a year; 2y not preventing. Coming up on a year for number 2.

This. I got KU first cycle off BC with DS. This time we tried for 3 months, TTA for 3 months, and now I am on month 3 of trying again. So, it is taking longer, but I wouldn't consider us struggling.

There are a number of us TTC#2 on here - most chart. I charted to get PG with my DS (took 3 months) and am now charting for TTC#2. If you aren't charting and you don't know when you ovulate you may not be timing it right. I suggest looking into that if you are getting frustrated.

Definitely not a struggle, but DD took 2 cycles and I'm on month 6, cycle 5 of trying for #2. So yes, it is taking longer than I would like, but I know this is all par for the course.

ETA: I am temping, using OPKs, the whole shebang. I started out not temping, naively thinking it would be as easy as the first time. About 3 cycles in I became a temping convert and advocate!

We are TTC#2. It took a year for DD. I expect it to take just as long for #2.

DD#1 took 2 months

DD#2 took 4 months

We are on our 3rd month trying for #3...maybe it will take longer this time too. Only time will tell.

It took 6 cycles with charting to get pregnant with ds. I just had my first pp period after bf'ing ds for a year so I'm charting my temps now to see what my cycle will be like. I'm hoping to get a good idea before we actively start ttc in a couple months.

DD was a suprise baby, I'm on the 6th cycle for #2...
