How do you take your coffee?

Black?

Cream, two sugars?

So frilly that it's hardly recognizable as coffee?

What is your standard coffee shop order?

Re: How do you take your coffee?

  • I take my coffee black. Because you know, once you go black... ;)

That doesn't mean I don't enjoy fancy coffee. I for one will not turn down a good latte or cappuccino.

My order will vary depending where I'm ordering from. If I'm at Tim Horton's, it's just a small black coffee. If I'm at a place that I know has a decent machine, I'll order a latte.

  • The more froufrou the better. The only way I like coffee is Puerto Ricanstyle, so, basically enough sugar to make it white. That's disgustingly unhealthy so I just don't drink it as a means of self control, lol.

In my fantasies: Starbucks zebra mocha, decaf, three pumps of caramel, add whipped cream. See why I never get coffee? It's like asking for the Diabeetus!

  • Frilly as fluck!
  • I take it about twice a year from Starbucks in the form of a Caramel Macchiato, or one of their special holiday treats.

I used to drink coffee at work, but it started to upset my stomach. If I drink it, it has to be weakend with cream, sugar, flavor, or whatever.

I prefer hot tea, but I'm usually too lazy to pull out the kettle and boil water. Lame, right?

My typical coffee shop order is either hot tea (LOVE the Tazo brand "Joy" tea that Starbucks has during the holidays) or hot chocolate.

  • Strong with a touch of Coffemate's French Vanilla or if in season Pumpkin spice. I like SBX but it's more of a treat because it's so sweet. I drink a lot of coffee. A LOT!
  • Just coffee? 1 sugar, 1 milk At home it's more like 1/2 a sugar

If I want a drink I'll usually go latte or some variation of.  I'm so rarely anywhere that makes them I tend to splurge when I can.

At Starbucks it's vanilla latte, Second Cup is green tea latte, local places (which are my fav) Chai latte.  I'll sometimes make these at home, when I have the ingredients and our machine is working.

I used to be a Barista at a coffeehouse and our drink menu was pages long.  S'Mores latte, pina colada, jack frost, you name it, we made it.  It was fun and tasty (and fattening)!

  • I just need cream.  But W can't tolerate me having cow's milk, so now I use almond milk.  And since Starbucks and Peet's both only have soy milk and not almond, I don't order coffee out anymore :(

My prior-to-baby-W's-arrival order was a Grande non fat Latte, no sweetener.  And at home was a coffee with lots of milk/cream (about 2/3 coffee, 1/3 cream).  Now, it's the same at home but with the almond milk instead (sweetened, but not much, and not flavored).

  • I drink my coffee black. OR I get a dry cappuccino, except in AZ there is a huge shortage of baristas who can make anything but blended-iced-syrup-whipped cream smoothie drink (which somehow is coffee?) and it's nothing like the baristas in the Bay Area or Seattle. Heh. I'm spoiled. And a total coffee snob. I only buy coffee from locally-owned independent coffee shops that roast their beans in-house.

  • With any flavor of liquid creamer.  That's it!  No sugar, creamers are sweet enough.  I like French Vanilla and Irish Cream the best.  And International Delights brands beat CoffeMate creamers anyday.

I don't have a standard coffee shop order.  I might go into a Starbucks three times a year.  And then I'm that person fumbling through her order because she doesn't know if Tall is bigger than Grande.

That would be me as well.

  • Cafe con leche is my standard fare.  Which means I've had to give up coffee entirely because it's got to have a ton and a half of sugar in it for me to find it palatable.  I fill half the mug with Cafe Bustelo or some other such Hispanic espresso, then pour in evaporated milk until it's mostly full.  Then I put in about a tablespoon and a half of sugar, sometimes more.

Oh, and my favorite snack in the entire world is to put Corn Flakes into my cafe con leche.  So farking delicious.

  • I take my coffee in the form of Dr. Pepper.
