Measuring behind...

Please, any experience helps.
Today I had my internal check and everything went well with that.
But when he measured me he said I was measuring at 33weeks. 3 behind. He wasn't to concerned because baby has dropped down to 1 and said that could very well be why. I was perfectly content with that answer until I was talking to my mom, that I have been very moist. I told her that ever since I got extremely sick and was in the hospital with what they thought was pneumonia, and coughing so bad that I dislocated a rib I have been peeing a little when I cough, move, sneeze... and now just at random times in the day I get uncomfortably wet.. I chalked it up to normal and never thought about it until now. I had no idea that it could be amniotic fluid, so I never smelt or checked, or asked anyone. Now I'm really nervous because when I think about it, the wetness isn't did colored or thick. It's just wet.
Has anyone else ever leaked fluid? What did it feel like, and what did your doctor do?

Re: Measuring behind...

  • I forgot to say he ordered me an ultrasound for my next appt. just in case to check growth and fluid... But I never told him about the wetness. Maybe he wouldn't have decided to wait a full week for it if I did tell him?

  • I would call back and tell him because that totally could be the reason.  Go with your gut and don't doubt yourself.
  • I assume you're referring to your fundal height being 33 weeks?  If so, for what it's worth mine is also measuring at 33 weeks, while I am actually 36 weeks.  I had an ultrasound today, baby is actually measuring ahead (67th percentile).  I was told that the fundal height measurement is not necessarily accurate, especially near the end of a pregnancy (because baby can drop, etc).  I wouldn't worry too much.  As for the fluid issue, I have been leaking a bit throughout, just tiny amounts.  My doctor tells me not to worry unless it would fill a pad. I would still mention it to your doctor though if I were you.
