Trying to Get Pregnant

Did we BD too early?

Below is my chart.

I didn't use my BBT this month (I left my thermometer at home due to a week long vacation OOT), however I have been tracking my cycle, OPK tests, and CM signs. If I ovulate within the next few days (O dates are usually the 15 or so), is it possible to still conceive this month or is it too late?

DH had to go OOT for a few days, so yesterday was the day to do the BD.  I'm leaning towards we still have a good shot - but I'd like confirmation or not from others.  TIA!

  • Chart really means nothing without temps. Generally speaking, sex five days prior to ovulation could still get you knocked up.

  • Your link isnt clicky so I can't see your chart but honestly if you havent O'd yet it isn't possible to say. Even after O if you're not temping people wouldn't be able to say. Your best bet is to have sex regularly, especially when you see fertile CM, and hope for the best.

  • If you had unprotected sex, then yes, there's a chance you could end up pregnant.

  • I had no idea that not taking temps negated the chart altogether...I learned something new this morning! :) I originally thought that with the other items (CM, OPKs) it could help approximate better, especially since I have been tracking my cycles for 5mo now.

Thanks for the help though  ... I guess I won't know until the 2ww is up.  I was also thinking "Gosh I hope this post doesn't come off as another  'Could I be Pregnant??'  post..."

lol, I guess it does in a way.

  • You have a 20% shot each cycle of getting knocked up even with the most perfect timing.  You are just going to have to wait it out.

You have ewcm marked on one day and some negative OPKs, that really doesn't tell much at all. You can have fertile CM when you aren't ovulating and nonfertile CM when you are. OPKs detect an LH surge, which can occur and ovulation doesn't follow. That's why I said we can't tell anything really about a templess chart.

Everytime I hear this statistic, it depresses me. :-P

So I have a legitimate question on this 20% statistic.  Iisn't the idea that charting etc provides you with the knowledge to improve your timing and thus increase your chances? I could be totally off base, and I'll check back in TCOYF, but I vaguely recall there being some reference to that percentage increasing with improved timing.

Same here! And to think when I was a teenager I thought using condoms and on BCP would still get me somehow KU!

That 20% statistic is assuming you've had good timing. Meaning that people who are just guessing at ovulation and aren't taking any steps to figure out their bodies would have less than a 20% chance of getting pregnant.

    Huh.  Even more depressing.

Agreed.  Terrible.  You would think good timing plus multiple times with good timing in the fertile window would have better odds than 20%.   Boooo
