NBR Breaking up with my hairdresser

I've been with my current hair person for nearly 8 years, but lately I haven't liked any of her cuts and the color hasn't been stellar. The last cut was somewhere between Shaggy and Velma from Scooby Doo, which was kind of the last straw. 1. Do I have to break up with her officially, or can I just neglect to schedule another appt? 2. Can I try someone else at the same salon? There's only 4 people that work there, but I've liked the cuts that the person 2 chairs down does. I'm just afraid it'll be super awkward.

I'm a stylist. If you stay at the salon just tell her you needed a change but look forward to visiting with her when you're there. She'll be hurt regardless, but that's life. If you change salons I'd just do it.

Is your person difficuilt to schedule with? Or takes a certain day off each week when the other person works? If so, that'd be an easy excuse, at least the first time.
