2nd Trimester

Anyone else have spotting during their pregnancy? TMI

I have spotted throughout this pregnancy....it seems every few weeks. Not much blood at all...only when I wipe. Had some on Sunday. Dr. said I have a sensitve cervix - then it started again today....again light....but it's seems that it is lasting longer this time.
I have my 20 week us and an ob appt tomorrow -hopefully I can get some more answers.

It's really starting to make me nervous! Anyone else having these issues?

  • I've had spotting off an on since week 7. . . it's the worst!  It always makes me worry--even though there really isn't much to worry about at this point, I guess.  My spotting has lasted from 3 to 4 days each time, with one 4 day episode of bleeding.  I think some women are just "spotters"--apparently, me and you included.  My doctor blames a sensitive cervix also. Sometimes that label has made sense, but mostly it hasn't.  Like last week when I had spotting it started right after a good gym workout--which made sense.  All the other times, no apparent culprit. . .

I bet you'll see your babe tomorrow as healthy as ever!  Also, they can probably look around for any obvious reasons you might be bleeding beyond the cervix issue.

  • I have had three bleeding episodes, one of which was at 11 weeks and was like I hat ruptured something...blood was every where and the ER was certain I had m/c...I didn't...but since being pregnant I have had pretty consistant spotting as well...they said my bleeding was from a partial placental abruption...nothing mentioned about a sensitive cervix.

  • I've had several spotting/bleeding episodes since I got my BFP.  The last two times, my doctor attributed it to a placenta previa.  It's very scary every time it happens, last time it resulted in my sitting on the toilet bawling my eyes out.  A sensitive cervix has never been mentioned, but my doctor has put me on pelvic rest after every episode and she also told me that I can't exercise, except for walking.

Like a PP said, I guess some women are just "spotters".
