Pregnant after a Loss

At what point was your loss?

I HATE thinking about this but the further I get along and closer to 2nd tri the more confident I get but I'm scared to get too confident.

My loss was at 8.5w baby stopped growing at 8w. This is the most preg I have ever been and I know I have a long time until I am safe but please let this be our baby!

When was your loss?

Re: At what point was your loss?

  • I had two, first was a b.o. and was discovered at 7ws. The Second was at 9 weeks. I have made it past both milestones. I am still scared but i have a good feeling about thsi one!

  • Let me start off by saying please remember the mantras, and try to stay positive....

But since you asked, my second miscarriage was a missed miscarriage at around 12 weeks. To me I felt a lot better after I got out of the first trimister, and you are almost there!!!

  • My loss was at 5w1d.  I am exactly that today.  We saw the g sac today and the beginning of a yolk too.  And I had to take an HPT today.  Super strong lines made me feel good.  Last time at this point no sac, super faint line.  Best wishes for a H & H pregnancy for you!!
  • My first pg, I found out at my 18th week appt that my baby no longer had a heartbeat.  So right now is that time, but I have flutters and also listen to the heartbeat on my doppler.  I will always be a little fearful b/c so many things can happen, but I count my blessings every day and also take one day at a time.
  • My 1st loss was at 6 wks, my 2nd loss was at 8 wks.

I know it's hard but try to stay positive and just take it a day at a time.

  • Almost 9 weeks.

Congrats on that milestone. The odds are much more on your side this time... just try to remember that. The past does not dictate your future.

  • 9w1d.... ditto the other girls... this is a different pregnancy, and let's hope and have faith for a different outcome...

You're almost out of the 1st tm, and your chances decrease dramatically then.... Hang in there! TODAY you are pregnant and LOVE your baby!

  • My loss was at 18 weeks.  Later losses are pretty rare, so although there are a lot on this board, we are more concentrated here than in the actual population.  Just think of all of the thousands of women who have healthy babys everyday.  Congrats on passing your milestone!

  • 11 weeks. fetal growth stopped about 8 weeks.

I am SO relieved to be past the halfway point. And I'll be even MORE relieved to pass 24 weeks

  • 27 weeks and 8 weeks. I've now made it past both points. Clark died at 27w0d and was delivered at 27w4d, so equal to today. Today I am "more pg" than I've ever been. Not that it makes me any more confident. I feel great about this pg, but I know from experience now that anything could happen unexpectedly...stinks that I can't just be naive again.

  • 6 w 0d, this time I am past that point, however dont have my first appt until 9am on wed (thats like in a few hours here) and its nerve wracking as hell, but I have to agree with the others here, this IS a different pregnancy and even though I still have good/bad memories of the last one, Im taking this one one day at a time, and hey this time I have symptoms... somthing I didnt on the other one!
  • 19 weeks - but ditto pp that said we late loss girls are way more prevalent on a board like this than in the general pop.  GL and remember the mantras!
  • 9w was our loss but growth stopped at 6w1d.

  • 8 wks for me but it was a blighted ovum & just remember that the past does not dictate the future.  Also, you are almost out of the first tri!

  • My loss was discovered at around 11 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks.  We discovered this at our viability u/s :(
  • Mine was technically at 7 weeks 6 days but the baby had stopped growing and they never told me when.  It was most likely sometime in the 6th week bc we saw a hb beat of 106 at 5 weeks 4 days or something really early but I was already spotting which continued until my m/c at 7 weeks 6 days.

So far with this pg no spotting to speak of really other than maybe 3 spots on different days on the tp and I'm on progesterone so I'm hoping and praying this is our sticky.

    GL Beauprez!!

  • 41 weeks + 3 days.  No rhyme or reason at all as to why she passed away.  I feel like I'm living in fear every single second of this pregnancy.  Sad

    My Ovulation Chart
  • Both of my losses were missed m/c's that were discovered around 9w, but the babies stopped developing around 6.5w.
  • saw very low hb (~40bpm) at 9 weeks & baby measured 6w3d.  Confirmed that baby had passed at 10 weeks.  I suspected something was off from the beginning b/c of my very low betas.

I am now almost 17 weeks & I still worry.  Every doctor appt I get nervous until I hear that whoosh-whoosh on the doppler.  Given our histories, I don't think we'll ever stop worrying.  I hate that our innocence has been taken away, but thankfully we've been blessed w/ miracles again.

Honestly, I don't think I'll ever stop worrying.  Just trying to get used to it.

  • Mine was a b.o but in my office they don't do an ultrasound at 8 weeks and just before my 12 week appt I started spotting/cramping, so at my appointment it was confirmed that I had a b.o. and that I was miscarrying.  This time I will most definitely have an ultrasound at that first appt.
  • We found out just before our 11w appt that baby stopped developing at 8.5 weeks.
