Our awesome return is going towards our debt, with some going to savings, but the sooner our debt is paid the more we can save/spend on the LO. Either way it's going towards a great goal
We got a pretty hefty return this year, too. You all make me feel guilty, I should be saving the money! We plan on paying off DHs car (about half the money), and then using some of it for a vacation before baby arrives.
We got a good amount back too. It went to paying off our credit card and DH's student loan. Sometimes being a responsible adult sucks lol we would love to just spend it on us! We just bought a house though so paying all of our other debit was a must before baby comes!
Mine will go towards a family vehicle. I had to give up my truck because its unsafe for pregnancy (I can't sit far enough away from the steering wheel... once the bump comes I'll be touching the wheel) and won't work for babies (its a two seater) soo... I'm currently driving a gas guzzling suburban.
Eat your food people. You are pregnant, not made of glass. ~PrimRoseMama
Tax time is much different for me. I'm a full-time independent contractor and owe thousands. Tax time sucks for our family! No returns here! The only good news is that I have enough saved to pay them.

We're a balance of the two - husband is an attorney who was solo for half the year so we banked his estimated taxes during the year, but I'm full time employed so my witholding happens on my behalf. We're happy if we end up 'even' on my end and have enough saved in the 'tax' account to pay what is due.
Good for you for proactively saving for tax season!
this is by no means a knock on anyone, so please don't take it as such.... but this always makes me laugh. People treat tax refunds as if they're free money the government is giving away. It's your money that they've been holding on to for the year.
I actually prefer to pay - we've gotten it down to where we usually owe less than $1000. That way, we get use of the money throughout the year when we need it.

I agree with you - we always try to get my witholding right so that we owe a small amount or only get a small amount back. At least if we have the money throughout the year we can earn interest, vs a big refund that grew 0% in the government's pocket.
We haven't started ours yet. DH was still waiting on some paperwork. Plus, we had a lot going on in 2012, so not looking forward to doing them: got married, sold our house, bought a house, both got new jobs, plus my old house is a rental property.
DH is a "keep the money and pay taxes if need be." I like getting a refund lol.
