For Real! .....Sorta!!

I saw a suspicious car on our road as I was driving today and later when I heard a bank just up the road had been robbed, I call the police and reported the car and description of the men. They were arrested a couple of hours later based on mine and other tips!!!

Whoa!

Has anyone else ever called in a tip to help solve a crime?

That is very cool!

DH chased a couple of guys down our alley one night after they broke our neighbor's car window. When he caught them, they pulled a knife on him and he ran back to our house and grabbed a ringette stick from our back yard and caught up with them again and told them he was going to break the guy's wrist (only one of them had a knife) and then kick his @ss. It didn't get violent (thank goodness) and the police arrived and arrested them.

I was once in the middle of a high speed chase. The car that the cops were chasing drove up on the sidewalk next to me when I was stopped at a red light. Not quite the same, but still crazy!

Good job! People don't realize how one little tip can really help.

I'm not saying that we don't get stupid calls that turn out to be nothing, but sometimes it only takes one call to catch a criminal.

I've called a few times but most of the time I am the one on the radio helping the cops find the bad guys.

Hey, that's awesome!

Twice as a kid, I caught guys in the act of home robberies of my neighbors' homes. Really creepy feeling.

I accidentally caught a coworker committing fraud through a student loan company I used to work for. I just noticed some discrepancies in the paperwork when I was being trained. At the time he had been doing this for 10 years and collected millions of dollars.

That's pretty awesome! Most crime related thing I've done is stopped an underaged kid from drinking where I work. For some reason he thought that we don't actually look at the bday/year and if he acted confident, I'd serve his underage a.

Great stories! We live in a small town and a bank robbery is pretty unheard of so it was a big deal!!

I work on a residential street and all the houses around my daycare are all retired and home all day. It was the worse street in town for them to pick! I feel very uneasy that they were armed and creeped out that they were hanging around my house before the robbery. I do feel like my Mrs Kravits tendencies have been justified!! If you are on my street I am going to be watching you!! and now I may call the police sooner!!

That's great! What made the car 'suspicious'? I'm curious before even hearing about the bank robbery what made you remember that particular car.

We are a small community and as I mentioned in my second post everyone on this street is home all day. It is usually just the same people that come and go and if someone does park on the street they go into one of the homes. I saw them parked at the end of the street when I was leaving. As I drove past I saw that they were two greasy (and they looked high) young guys...so young I thought maybe they were skipping school.

It is unusual for anyone to sit in there are on our street.

I run a daycare and am always aware of who is around the house!
