So I just got the results back and I was at a 177 (normal is under 135). I go in Monday to do the 3 hour test and I'm just nervous. I am not overweight and I eat very healthy. I haven't had any of the classic symptoms. I'm just wondering how many others got a false positive on the 1 hour? I know it's more common to get GD with multiples, but I just didn't see this coming.
Re: Failed my 1 hour glucose test
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
I failed the 1 hour with a 173, and then also failed the three hour. I also am not overweight and eat well, and I didn't have any of the classic symptoms. It isn't all that bad--I'm just controlling it with diet--I saw a dietician who told me what I can and can't eat. I was really upset to have been diagnosed with it, but so far, it seems pretty manageable.
I hope that you pass the three hour....good luck!
As my doctor said to me: weight (and diet too) has nothing to do with GD. It is how the body reacts to glucose while pregnant. there are women under 100lbs that get it and women over 300 lbs that get it.
Being overweight doesn't affect GD, you're right that it is more common with multiples. The one hour test just denotes risk, the three hr test will give you the real results of yes or no on GD. Try not to worry too much, many have failed the one hr and went on to pass the three hour. GL!
GL and I hope you pass the three hour!!!
