Hi! I'm new to the board. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any luck with this monitor. My friend got pregnant twice with it. She had said the day before ovulation is when she got pregnant both times. Since you never know when you're exactly going to ovulate, I wanted to know what everyone suggests...every other day as you approach ovulation? Thanks.
Re: Clearblue Fertility Monitor
OPKs will predict O. Temping will confirm it.
Heck of a lot cheaper than the CBE monitor.
TTC #1 since 10/2012.

I use OPKs to predict when I'm going to O. It's much cheaper. I looked into the fertility monitor when I was TTC #1, and the monitor itself and the strips are super expensive.
I try to do EOD, and then everyday for a few days when I get a + OPK.

I both temp/chart/use OPKs, and use the CBEFM. I've only used it for two months now, but I can tell you already that I much prefer charting and using OPKs, and I wish I hadn't spent the money on the monitor.
I know it can apparently take a little while for the monitor to get to know your cycle, but the past two months, it has only given me a peak reading, with no high days before it. I am glad I am charting and using OPKs, or else I would have had no warning that I was about to O.
I use it and really like it. Temping isn't for me so this works much better. It can be expensive. (The best way to get affordable sticks each month is online through Amazon, but you have to plan ahead.)
My DH and I do not have sex EOD on a regular basis. CBFM reads both estrogren and LH so when it moves to "high" we know it's time to make EOD happen. Then we do every day once it moves to "peak".
A few of my girlfriends swore by it. I'm glad we've invested in it. (And just for the record, she didn't get pregnant the day before she ovulated. She had sex the day before she ovulated and that gave the sperm enough time to get far enough inside to meet the egg at ovulation. That's how OPKs and CBFM help.)
Good luck!

After 6 months TTC, I decided to get it, mostly for peace of mind. Sex is pretty painful for me, and my cycle isn't super regular, so we were having lots more sex than necessary (tried OPKs but couldn't make them work right with my work schedule, since you need earlier afternoon testing). It was honestly causing some emotional issues for me, developing such a strong association between intimacy with DH and pain.
This is only our first month, but so far I'm happy. We got to have our regular "fooling around" non painful sex when we felt like it, and then switched to TTC sex when the machine said I was high/peaked. I'm also temping, and am really appreciating being informed about my cycle. So, for me, it's worth it.
W my dd 8mo, I got pregnant on cycle 1. Just started using it again so we will see how quickly it works this time! I agree w ppers that you can get the same thing w temping and charting and opks, but for me this works better. I also like that I get a little more notice than I would w opks alone. So all in all I am happy I bought it!
Good luck.
