I feel so out of shape! A coworker and I went to lunch down the street from my office. He was walking at a brisker pace and so I tried to keep up. By the time I got back to my office I was gasping for air! And then I needed a nap....

Lol, this happened to me too! I walked up a flight of stairs for an interview and by the time I got there I was so out of breath that I could barely ask for the person I was supposed to meet. I was so embarrassed because it probably looked like I was just super nervous!

Haha, same thing happened to me when I went hiking with my friend. It would have been so easy pre-pregnancy.

Yes! And DH doesn't believe that it's pregnancy related. Makes me feel like such a fat kid (more than I already am). I usually walk really fast at work, half-jog down the hall sometimes, but I have been so out of breath.

What causes it this early? Clearly baby isn't taking up any breathing space, so what is it? Heart working harder to pump the extra blood?

Soooo. I was experiencing this so bad I brought it up in my OB visit as a serious concern... Couldn't walk up stairs without getting really winded... I am not overweight at all so OB says... Could be a few.... Baby could be making me slightly anemic I wasn't before if you are anemic blood to the heart could be the issue. They should know by a quick blood test.. Not a major thing pretty common. Another would be the fact that your baby is taking a lot of the blood being pumped so your heart is working twice as hard.... Lastly your baby may not be that big but your uterus is no tiny piece and it could def. push everything upward to put pressure on your lungs..oh sorry ! One more. Water! The more h2o the better chances for o2. If you are dehydrated you can become very short of breathe. Sorry for the saga! Good luck !

This is what my midwife told me when I asked her about it. Makes sense.
