Babies: 9 - 12 Months

trouble staying asleep

Logan is almost 10 months old and slept thru the night at 2 months but has had trouble sleeping since....diagnosed with silent reflux, he is on zantac and his crib is elevated....we tried letting him cry but after an hour of screaming on two separate occasions i decided that method wasn't going to work....now we rock him to sleep and put him in his crib but he wakes up frequently throughout the night....usually we can just go put his bink back in and hes fine but sometimes we end bringing him in our bed....usually the worst time is around 3 every morning when it takes 30-60minutes to get him back to sleep.....any suggestions on what could be wrong or how to get him to stay in his crib all night (or at least until his morning feeding at 5am)?

Re: trouble staying asleep

  • You are not alone! My 9 mth daughter does the EXACT same thing. She will sleep HARD for about 4-5 hours but then every 2 -3 hours she wakes up. All she needs is her paci and cuddle and right back down she goes. Around 3 she is normally up for about 30 min. I BF so normally offering her feeding gets her to go back down faster and stay asleep until I wake her. If you find a solution please share!

  • yeah usually logan will go back down with just the bink but if not hen i rock him and he will go back to sleep but this happens anywhere from 3-12 times a night! I also BF but the doc said to quit feeding him during the night :/
  • Thanx....doc says there is nothing wrong with him and there are no other meds to use for reflux (hes also on the highest dose they allow)...he says to just let him cry....you are prolly right though about us confusing him but i try the bink first then rocking if that doesnt work and our bed as a last resort.....otherise he will just scream and wake his brother!
