Babies: 3 - 6 Months

sitting up

When did ur lo start to sit up supported without falling over to the side. We practice sitting on the couch but lo is still slumping over. Just wondering how long it will take her to get the hang of it?

Re: sitting up

  • My little man is just now starting to get it! 4 months old. Idk if he's behind on time or early though? Every baby is different : I would say to just keep practicing! She will need the learning experience!

  • DS is just not starting to sit propped on the couch without slumping.  He can only do a minute or so before he starts leaning.

  • We do sit propped up on the couch but she is still leaning from side to side.  She is now 4 months and while I know it will be a while before she can sit unassisted...I am wondering how long before the the leaning stops?  We'll just keep practicing. :)

  • Keep practicing. Our 5 month old is just starting to get the hang of it. Most babies between 4 and 6 months will start to sit up, but it can hurt to train those muscles as long as your LO is holding their own head up.

  • I don't think i ever noticed when my DD sat supported? She started sitting unsupported at five months...so I guess sometime before five months.
