LO Shrieking. Anyone else?

LO has recently started making this very shrill shrieking noise. The sound is like nails on a chalkboard. He does it all.the.time.  When he is happy. When he is mad. When he is sad. When he is excited.

Anyone else's LO do this?  Does it stop at some point?

Re: LO Shrieking. Anyone else?

  • Our LO starting shrieking about 2 weeks ago... he really only does it when he's happy.... which makes me love it.  Yes, it's like nails on a chalk board BUT, I still love it!   I guess if he was doing it all the time, it might bother me but since I know he's happily doing it, it's cute and endearing vs horrible!

  • My DD also does this, but only when she's happy. She screams on the top of her lungs, I think she has finally discovered her voice and loves to hear it. She cracks herself up, and I start laughing, which probably encourages her.  I am hoping it's just a phase, because we dine out often and we are getting some dirty looks from people, even though she is happy.

  • My DS started doing that when he gets really upset. I hate it, but I think it's just a phase. He doesn't do it all the time though; he only does it once every 1.5 weeks or so.

  • My LO does this. It's annoying at times but cute too. He's been doing this for over a month now. I figure it will stop at some point but it doesn't bother me.

  • My 5 month old daughter just started that about a week ago!  She loves it!  She only does it when she's happy and she is happy a lot!  I think she is just proud of herself for being able to get our attention so quickly! Don't know when it will stop, but I think I'll kind of miss it...maybe!
