In one of my grad school classes, we were all introducing ourselves to the class. One girl's name was spelled Katti. She stood up and said, "Hi, I'm Katie, not 'catty'."
I felt so bad for her because I have no doubt she's been saying that her entire life. We actually became friends and I still call her "katie not catty" as a joke.
