Anyone else get this?

So I go to bed and then wake up almost every night between 12&2. When I wake up have to go to the bathroom but also have a slight headache and feel dehydrated. I drink lots and lots of water especially now that I am pregnant. Is this normal did anyone else have this I keep water next to my bed and am constantly drinking but nothing seems to help.

Have you had your blood sugar tested yet? Could be gestational diabetes. The constant thirst could be from a sugar high. I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy. I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins, and was tested early and my levels were great. I will have to test again at 28 weeks however.

Or it could be just as simple as having had too much sodium in your diet which could make you feel thirsty and dehydrated. Ask your dr. just to be safe.

I feel the same when I get up to pee. Headache, thirsty, and having BH. I do not have GD. I never put any thought into how I feel in the middle of the night. In the AM, I am fine.

Thank you for the responses. I just took the test and I have an appointment next week so I will talk to my dr. then.. The only problem with feeling dehydrated in the middle of the night is a slight headache that causes me not to be able to go back to sleep for a bit.

Same for me. I always felt poorly in the middle of the night. I also kept granola bars by the bed. And, the BHs would get pretty miserable =(.

I wake up one to two times per night, and drink a full glass of water both times. Earlier in my pregnancy I needed to keep TWO snacks next to the bed. One for the middle of the night and the other for IMMEDIATELY after I woke up in the morning. I couldn't get through the night without these. I have not yet been tested for GD, but I think the thirst is normal. Think about how much amniotic fluid you're recycling through your body daily! You need tons of water to keep up with that.

ok, last night i got this too. i do wake up at almost exactly 2:03 every morning, and am thirsty. i wake up cause i have to pee, and i usually take a few sips of water. but last night i woke up and my head was KILLING me. i couldn't fall back asleep, and i have to wake up at 5:30 for work. i still have my headache,

the diabetes thirst, is a different kind of thirst. its totally unquenchable, and water feels like nothing in your mouth, literally. this is just a i'm thirsty type thirst.

When I wake up in the middle of the night, I'm also thirsty and my throat feels dry-its not just you!
