They were ordered from Davids Bridal and I think they are going to let me exchange it for a bigger size.
WHAT SIZE!!!!
I'm a first timer so I have no idea what to expect. The wedding is July 20th, I'll be 32 weeks! 6 is my true pre-preg size. I know they can alter it down 2 sizes. ANY insight is appreciated ![]()
PS. I'm also supposed to be in a wedding at 37 weeks is there any hope in even attempting this? lol
Re: Size 6 bridesmaid dress is ready to be picked up. Uh oh.
My guess is the sales people will have some idea of how to handle this, so I'd ask what they recommend.
I don't know about the 2nd wedding....I'd at least have serious talk with the bride about the likelihood of you not making it.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I'm in a wedding the same day as you. I'll be 30 weeks, and they had me order two sizes above my normal. So since the dresses we got ran small I would have been in an 8 not pregnant. Since I am pregnant they had me order a size 12.
ETA: I'm two weeks ahead of you and will technically only be 29 w 4 days. So I think you'd only be 27 weeks. Although it isn't much it might make a difference. I'd ask the shop, they're used to dealing with pregnancy.
I def could be off with my week estimate! Is your dress a close fitting one or pretty forgiving?
I worked in bridal once upon a time, and it really is way too unpredictable how much a woman will gain. Example, my 5'9 SIL who weighs roughly 130 normally got to be over 200lbs for her pregnancy. Dropped it all later, but no one would have expected her to gain like that and she didn't eat horrible. Bodies are weird. The good thing is, David's carries most dresses in stock, so if it's not a clearance dress and you make friendly with the management, you might be able to exchange later too with no issue.
With my little sisters wedding I ordered 4 sizes bigger knowing I would still be really pregnant looking a month and a half after I was due. It needed to be taken down quite a bit, but my experienced seamstress worked wonders. Do yourself a favor and save your pocketbook by not having David's do your alterations. They are way overpriced and frankly, every time I've dealt with them they didn't know how to do anything more than really basic tailoring. They also will not change the shape of the dress where it would alter the look of the dress. A seamstress elsewhere could care less!
I held it together til I got off the phone, then I had a major meltdown... I'll be 32 weeks pregnant, but I'm going to be so upset if that size actually fits me. And it's short and strappless... I'm pretty nervous about it to say the least.
Bridal always runs small. I hate that about the industry. Listen to Stacey and Clinton and don't let the size dictate how you feel in clothing, let the FIT determine how you feel. I was always a 4-6 for years and years and thanks to some hormonal bc and life changes, I am not a 12-14. If I let the numbers bother me I would be miserable all the time. Don't sweat it, you're growing a person!!
I use this site to figure out how many weeks I'll be at certain points (graduation, my birthday, wedding, etc) https://www.pregnology.com/faralong.php?month=9&day=01&year=2013 That's obviously for my due date, but you could change it for yours.
This is the dress I'll be wearing https://www.weddingshoppeinc.com/pr/Bill-Levkoff-334/3200/46536 The outer layer is forgiving, but the inside layer is pretty tight.
