Gonal-f ?

It's been a while since I've had to do injections, mostly I've just been sticking crap up my tootoot. Is this stuff supposed to burn? Holy moly I feel like a bee stung me. Maybe I'm just being a pansy, but thought I'd ask anyways. Does bravelle sting? Thanks ladies and have a good night.

    How fast did you push? I notice if i inject too quickly or didnt mix the med enough, it burns.

    Me:29 DH:29  TTC since 1/11 Dx: unexplained IF/early DOR/immune issues 
    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
    3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy, Consulted w Dr. Kwak-Kim.  
    DX: High NK cells, cytokines, DHEAs& PAI1;  hypothyroid, +APA, restricted bloodflow
    7/13 IVF#3 Long lupron protocol with PIO, Crinone, Prometrium, and vivelle
    (plus synthroid, metformin, baby asa, metanx, PNV, Vit E, D, calcium, fish oil, CoQ10, IVIg infusions and lovenox per Dr. Kwak-kim)
    ER 7/19 14R, 11M, 9F(4 natural fert, 5 with ICSI)
    ET 5dt 7/24 2 fully expanded blasts.  SURPRISE 3 FROSTIES!!!
    Beta #1 8/2 335!!!! Beta #2 829!!!  1st u/s 8/14 showed TWINS!!!!!
    11/11: TEAM PURPLE!!!!!

    I used the Gonal f pen and didnt feel any burning. Not sure what it would be like if you are using the vial and mixing yourself though. Did you allow the alcohol to completely dry? I found that's when my injections burnt the most, if the alcohol was still wet.

    Did you give it straight from the fridge? After you draw up your dose let it get to room temp before injecting and that helps a lot. Took me a couple of times to figure that one out.
    Me (29) DH (34) married 11/24/2007 TTC for 2 1/2 years 3/11 9 wk m/c d&c 6/11 ectopic pregnancy methotrexate 11/11 5 wk m/c 6/12 5 wk m/c 8/12 hysteroscopy followed by several rounds of close monitoring and clomid 1/13 ER 18 mature, 15 fertilized, 11 after 5 day growth, PGD testing 6 girls, 2 boys 2/14/13 transfer of two embeds 1 girl 1 boy 2/25 beta --171, progesterone low 9, changed from suppositories to pio 2/27 beta #2--392, progesterone 21.9 yea it's working!

    Gonal-f didn't burn, but I found myself much more sensitive to the meds skin-wise, the second time.  I had bruises and even rashes from the band-aids that are still clearing up.  That could also be part of your issue.
    Us: 39(me)/41(he). TTC since April '11. DOR/MFI. March '12: surgery to remove fibroids, cysts, and endometriosis.
    IVF #1: 9/13/12. ER: 9/25. 3R, 2M, 1F. ET: 9/28 (1-6B). Beta: moved from 10/11 to 10/10: BFN.
    IVF #2: 11/12 cycle postponed due to Sandy and then cancelled due to elevated E2.
    IVF #2.1 cancelled due to cyst.
    IVF #2.2: 2/2/13. Converted to IUI. BFN
    IVF #3.0: 3/2014. BCP & Microdose Lupron.  Cycle cancelled due to poor response.
    IVF #4.0: 2/2015. EPP @ new RE. ER: 3/8. 3R, 3M, 1F. ET: 3/11 (1-8cell). 3/23 Beta: 16.9. 3/25 Beta: 71.6. 3/27 Beta: 300. 3/29 Beta: 800 3/31 Beta: 1816. 4/1 Beta: 4342. m/c at 6w2d. Goodbye little one. I loved you already.

    Bravelle stings each time, I thought it was my imagination that it was burning more each day, the nurse told me it's normal because the estrogen is rising and body is more sensitive. I've had husband inject slowly sometimes but doesn't make a difference, stings each time, Ovidrel injection was a breeze. Good thing injections are only a week or so, good luck

    Trying since Jan 2011. Unexplained IF.
    2 IUIs = BFN.
    1 IVF (Dec 2013) = BFN.
    FET, 2 frosties (June 13, 2014)

    14dp5dt-June 27 -BFP, beta 2061. 2nd beta >5000, 3rd beta >5000, 2 sacs 06/30.
    Twin Girls - 02/11/15 - at 37 weeks (no NICU, home with me at 3 days).

    Let the alcohol dry before you inject. I'd rub the alcohol on, fan with my hand for a couple seconds until I couldn't feel cold then inject

    It helps me if I do it at a 45 degree angel when I stab. I had no burning, but I hope this helps. Also can you give your injections in your leg? My nurses say sometimes that does not hurt as much.

    Yup it's the saline in the solution that makes it burn. You've heard of 'rubbing salt in a wound' - that's what your doing. :-)

    Gonal doesn't burn me at all- I notice the menopur does though. One thing to make sure you are only pushing the button and not the actual entire pen in (my husband accidentally did that and it did hurt)
