Last night my DS was up nursing every hour from 9p-7a and he has been very fussy all day. I feel like I have absolutely no milk today! Normally I can hear him gulp and swallow, today I haven't heard it very much when feeding him. I did pump twice the first time I got 1/2oz on each side, the 2nd time only a few drops. I'm taking fenugreek 3-4pills 3x a day. I had oatmeal twice today and I eat it every morning. The ONLY thing today that I've done different is this morning I did a 30 minute workout DVD. I haven't eaten anything spicey or different than normal. I'm getting so frustrated, and because I have to supplement with formula I am THISCLOSE to throwing in the towel. This has been a very hard, emotional few weeks dealing with my BFing problems and low supply. I wanted to go 6mos EBFing and that has already been screwed up by having to supplement. I am beyond frustrated. I am planning on calling the pediatric clinic in the morning and having his Dr write a script for a LC since that's the only way my insurance company will pay for it. Any ideas? Tips? I can't pump as often as I was told to (after every feeding) because he acts like he is still very hungry within 5mins of unlatching. He is never satisfied!!

Re: Whats going on with him?!
You also are very near the 6 week growth spurt. My DS ate ALL the time and acted like he was always hungry during that week. It was exhausting. Make sure you keep nursing in the meantime and your supply will catch up!
It gets so much easier....I promise!
Here's an article that may help: https://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/low-supply.html
Can I ask why you're supplementing? Was he not gaining weight? Many times a pedi will tell you to supplement if baby is acting hungry, when in reality offering formula will contribute to a lowered supply. I don't know your backstory, but why do you think you have a low supply? If you're basing it on how much you can pump, that's really inaccurate (and freaks almost all moms out). A pump will never get as much milk out as baby does. I agree with pp that it sounds like the 6-wk growth spurt.
I'm so sorry you're having such a time of this. I know how frustrating it can be. I spent the first 9 weeks of my son's life battling BF issues and multiple food protein intolerance... there were days he screamed 20 out of 24 hours. I wanted to rip every hair out of my head! Hang in there, and do what you need to survive! (((hugs)))
He lost 14oz and wasn't gaining it back so the pedi said I needed to supp. I'm hoping to wean from formula soon. It took over a week for my milk to come in as well. I emailed a LC earlier but haven't heard back, so I'm going to call the pedi and ask for a referral.
