Ring sling vs pouch sling

I'd love opinions on the pros and cons of ring slings and one-piece pouch slings like the Hotsling. I'm planning on a wrap and Ergo, but I'm looking for something that's really easy to pop baby in and out of and use for short periods of time and for nursing. I like the pouch slings because ones I've seen fold up really small, barely taking up any space and don't need any adjustment. But maybe it's better to have something adjustable?

Any advice? Which do you prefer? Which has more longevity? Anything else I haven't considered?

Ring sling has been far more useful to me. I have a pouch (7 Sling) that I hardly touched.

Definitely ring sling. Pouches are very size specific because they aren't really adjustable. And perfect fit is important especially for a newborn - you want a newborn held snuggly to you in an upright tummy to tummy position and that can be hard to get in a pouch. A pouch can work well for an older baby ...but you'd likely need a different size as baby grows. So ring sling for sure. They really aren't much bigger and the same one can go newborn to toddler

Ring sling all the way!! I used the same one with my 6 month old and my 2.5 year old! When your baby is big enough, you can do back carries.

I had an inexpensive hotsling pouch sling that I kept in my diaper bag. I really liked it. I used it from newborn to toddler. But now I keep an ergo in the car for quick trips.
