PTL update - super crazy

So after my peri felt the amniotic sac bulging and sent me to L&D, the L&D doc saying he didn't feel the sac and that I only fingertip dilated and sending me home, my peri asked me to go on bed rest and come back in this morning to get rechecked.  

At this morning's appt, the peri rechecked and said the exam was completely different from what he felt last time.  No bag, only 1cm dilated and "pretty good" length.  He said he's utterly confused.  He went into detail about what he felt and said he would be the first to admit that he made a mistake, in fact he wanted to tell me this, but he said he was very very sure of what he felt and that the exam was thorough.  I totally believe and trust him (he's amazing, very detailed and all his patients love him).  

The new plan is to have me resume normal activity then get checked again on Friday.  I'm still having some contractions here and there which are worse when I'm walking around or at night.  So I guess we'll see.  If everything's good on Friday then maybe it was just a fluke, but if I'm dilating again, then maybe it's the bed rest that was keeping things together. 

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this??  It all seems so weird to me and it freaks me out to be getting back to normal, but I do want to "test" it out and see what happens...

    Glad you had a good visit. Prayers it continues that way. Keep an eye out for warning signs.

    I have never heard of that, but I am happy to hear that it has for you. I hope the baby stays put til the end for you! I would be worried about resuming normal activity as well-especially if you are still having contractions. Definitely still take it easy and I will pray that things will still be the same on Friday when you have your next appt!
