Well this is my first pregnancy and it was a bit of a surprise. I have been very sick for the past week and a half. Can't seem to eat or drink very much at all. I've had 3 good days that I could eat good and wasn't terribly exausted or sick. Friday is my first appointment, what should I expect? Also I felt sort of a stretching feeling in my abdomen this morning what was that? : ttyl

    Every Doctor is different for what to expect, but often you get a full exam and they confirm pregnancy.  My doctor did a ultrasound on my first appointment to get an estimated due date (my calculations ended up being more accurate then his) and he prescribed a prenatal vitamin...  But each exam can be different!

    Congrats and welcome! I've been having that same stretchy feeling in my abdomen as well. I'm not sure what that's about but I definitely don't remember this from my first pregnancy with DS.

    I'm 6w 1d, too! This is only my second day feeling nauseous. So far Naked Juice and Power Bars are my friends. Musty smells and the thought of Chicken Cordon Bleu are my enemies... :/ My appointment isn't for another 3wks and I just can't wait! It feels like forever from now!

    CONGRATS!!!  Your body is going to be stretching for your growing uterus and baby.  Everything in your abdominal area will be shifted which will have many side effects.  Your first appt they will take a urine and blood test, sometimes even an ultrasound.  Also go over family history and give you information about pregnancy:)
