Doesn't seem to be a lot of activity here, but needing advice on hospitals in KS

I've recently moved from the northland in Missouri and am wanting to find a dr/hospital a little closer to where I am now.

I'm in the Roeland Park area, so I'm close to KU, and shawnee mission med. that I know of.

In the past have gone to St Lukes North, and have loved it there. I may end up just going back, but with how things went with my miscarriage I'm kind of wanting to explore my options.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I delivered at Overland Park Regional and so have a few of my friends. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a hospital birth. From this point on i am using a midwife at the New Birth Company Birthing Center in Overland Park (this place is AMAZING) because i want a different setting and another natural birth. But Overland Park Regional was great! big rooms, lights could be dimmed, i felt like my wishes were very respected. all the nurses were great. The OB i used recently retired but i liked the other ones in that practice, especially Dr. Burrows. I think she has a few different office locations (one in Shawnee). Good luck!

My friend works at St. Lukes East in the maternity ward and she delivered there as well. She really enjoyed her experience, and from what I hear they keep 1 nurse with you the whole time? Double check on that though if you check into them. My other friend is going to be delivering there in March, and I will be delivering there in Sept! I was going back and forth between South, St JO or East but insurance covers only East, so it made my decision easy! I live in OP so it'll be a short drive, but nothing unbearable.

Thanks, but it would be pointless for me to go to East. It would be 20 minutes faster to just go to St Lukes North where I already go.

I am using a midwife through the Women's Healthcare Group. She is amazing! My ob/gyn is based in this office as well.  I plan on giving birth at Overland Park Regional, where their office is located at. Good luck to you!

When I got preggos I stumbled on the Women's Healthcare Group and was seen my a midwife named Jeane Ward- she really helped me physically and emotionally in my twin pregnancy and I delivered at Overland Park Regional! My experience with both these organizations was AMAZING!! My pregnancy was luckily very healthy however being a first time mom of twins every little hiccup I thought something was wrong. I would call they would instantly call me back- make space for me and Jeane even helped me the day I delivered eventhough she wasn't on call..

I hope this helps and good luck!

I delivered at St Luke's on the Plaza and had a great experience! They just finished a big renovation on the L & D rooms, and are finishing their post delivery rooms.
