We are still marking an X on Max's hand, and for the most part we can tell them apart at home, but we had a major slip-up the other day when I checked Miles into the ER and realized an hour later that it was actually Max! I'm thinking we'll test around 6m if we're still marking them, but wanted to ask other di/di ID moms - did you know right away that your twins were ID, or did it take awhile to come out? I just can't decide.
Re: 9w di/di twins - would you test?
They do look really similar - you guys were one of the families where everyone has the same blood type, weren't you? I assume that you don't have that as an option for ruling out monozygosity lol
(my boys have different types so we know they aren't ID - but even if it were the same they look completely different)

My blog * We made the national news!
They totally look ID to me.
I would wait a little bit to test though. As their mother, you are going to have a HARD time thinking that they are ID. I swore up and down for 5 months that my girls looked nothing alike. I really, really meant it too. My husband had trouble telling them apart of course :-)
He went behind my back and had them tested - mostly because I would not let him because I thought it was waste of money. Low and behold, my girls are ID twins. Anyway, I think if a few more months had passed that I would have been able to "see" it myself too.
So, in short, I think they are ID, but wait it out a bit :-)

It always makes me smile when people say, "I'm no peakay but...". I think it's sweet.
Anyway, I am no peakay either but I think those babies like astonishingly alike. If those were my super adorable babies I would get them tested just for fun.

Wow, they look so ID! That is crazy about the ER though.
I would definitely get them tested if they have the same blood type, but wait a few months to see if they start to look more distinct.
This is coming from a di/di clearly frat mama though so take that fwiw.
this! For sure! Do it!
i am 22 weeks pregnant with twin boys and i was asked by the hospital to participate in an identical twins study. when they are born, they will swab the inside of thier mouths to see if they are identical or not! i was told by the U/S technician that identical twins can actually look different, and fraternal can look so much alike it is impossible to tell. If we weren't asked to participate, i would have paid to have the test done.
